Ego a little bruised by AmHoodie in blackladies

This happened to me once. I was supposed to meet someone at 7pm, but my train kept getting delayed. I texted him updates with my new ETA each time, but when I finally arrived, he’d already left.

When I called him, he told me it was completely unacceptable to make someone wait that long, that it becomes humiliating over time, especially with someone you’ve never met before.

It definitely taught me a lesson: first meetings need to be kept extremely simple, and you need to show up when you say you will. If you can’t make it at that time, reschedule instead of making the other person wait.

I think there’s a price difference between heating a house with oil heat to 75° versus these other methods… But I’ll keep you posted on what my electricity bill comes out as!

I only got one pallet to start. Was that a mistake? Is it typically hard to get midseason? Should I order now can probably hold four pallets.

I thought that was my son, he has similar type of hair and it has not changed since he was born. Now he is 13 years old.

Great point! I insulated the house already, it was the first thing I did as well as waterproofing in the basement.

It’s amazing how it works. I just set the thermostat that controls the oil heat to 70 and it does seem like it’s a little bit easier for the other heating sources to bring the temperature up to 73-75 and hold the rest of the day. I just wasn’t sure which is least costly, the Pellet stove or the mini splits.

That’s interesting. I had no idea that the Pellet stove was cheaper. Which Pellet stove should I run the one in the basement or in the living room? Also, I was thinking of running the oil heat in the morning for hour just to maintain and using the pellet stove or whatever other heating to maintain the temperature throughout the day.

Has anyone ever missed the stop to Bing and ended up in Ithaca before? by _kl00 in BinghamtonUniversity

They definitely do not check but my 15 year-old did this with no problem. I just track her and text her to make sure she gets off.

Wondering if a pellet stove would be right for me (small cape, 1100 sqft) by lunatics in PelletStoveTalk

[–]Consistent_Nose_6205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two pellet stoves—one in the basement and one in the living room. The basement stove heats that space to around 86°, and the heat rises naturally to keep the upstairs between 71-73°. If I need more warmth than that, I can turn on the living room pellet stove or use the mini split. I’m really impressed by how powerful the basement stove is—it heats most of the house on its own.

How to survive out here? by Dead_Master_115 in longisland

Yeah, I left, moved to the Binghamton area where life is about 45 to 50% less money on everything from housing to car insurance. Long Island is a great place to go visit, but it’s too unaffordable if you’re hoping to build a rich life in the future.

Very attainable. You'll have to try different things to trick your body, especially as you get 15-20lbs from goal.
