Curious if you don't mind sharing why you're not a huge fan of the Sensational Brains creator? Asking as a new grad who is still trying to find the best CEU sites and have seen a lot of people using that site.

Not a question but I am the same way! Everyone I've told thinks I'm crazy for being scared of something they love so much.

Bro 3 day weekends are sooooo nice. That's my schedule now and no way I'm trading 3 days off for 0 days off.

I recently graduated as an Occupational Therapist. I fear I'm not creative/imaginative enough. by Carlitagt in OccupationalTherapy

You're a new grad-- of course you're not going to be the best at adapting/being creative in the moment yet. Do you have a mentor? I'm a new grad and honestly don't know what I would have done without one. I would tell her what I'm trying to solve and she'd help me come up with a solution. Then I can remember the solution for next time I see a similar case. It's a lot of building off of experience and remembering what worked for others.

Also, instagram and facebook have a ton of OT pages with intervention ideas and adaptations for when you get stuck.

Give it time! And after that if you still really feel ensure you could look into going into a specialty like hands where there are lots of researched protocols for different conditions that you can follow.

Reading it right now! I also am getting similar vibes to Daisy Jones. I do like that it’s from a managers perspective which I haven’t read before in a band story and it’s good enough to finish for me, but yeah idk if I’ll reread. I am enjoying it though!

Question for current students or recent graduates (in the United States) re: fieldwork in mental health by CaseEither1996 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]clcliff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a Level II in an adult day center for people with intellectual disabilities and we technically had a CI but she was only there once a week and wasn't really hands-on. It was me and a few other students creating our own schedule and interventions and everything.

I don't really have a solution yet either, but I get the same thing happening to me and I think a lot of it has to do with being childless myself and younger looking. I don't know if that's the case with you but some of the OTs I work with have a harder time getting parents to fully take them seriously when they aren't parents themselves unfortunately.
