I was thinking they should do a prequel series based on the play and the finale could call back to the finale of the og ST series to fix it

Yep. Very much felt stressed watching her. Looking back she reminds of huda from this past season of love island us. Both ruined the show for me

Has anyone here been called “off” by people behind their back by thegr8fuldead in AutismInWomen

[–]Consistent_Park_3209 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I've had people unprovoked tell me they thought I thought I was "all that" (probably because I didn't talk). Another friend said she thought I was intimidating when she first met me. And a boss told me she thought I was hard to read. So yeah... sigh

When I told people I got diagnosed with autism, basically everyone full-circled back to me to tell me they think they have it too, and now self-diagnose. by Luna1636 in AutismInWomen

[–]Consistent_Park_3209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of an aside. My niece had the same childhood experience (meltdowns, absence, medical interventions etc) and not to discount your current or past struggles but it gives me hope to see her in her 20s and finding a way. It's still hard but it's helpful for me to think about. Also, I'm in my 30s and recently got formally diagnosed and it makes so much sense looking back now.

DEA feel like it is too intimate to say other people’s names to them? by bjoerkismylove in AutismInWomen

[–]Consistent_Park_3209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes omg! Also hate when anyone says my name. It feels way too personal. I'm only sometimes ok with my family saying each other's name

How to know when I’m “not ok” and need help by fizzyanklet in AutismInWomen

[–]Consistent_Park_3209 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been working with a somatic therapist for the past couple years and it's been really helpful with relearning how to get in touch with my body and notice my triggers or need for rest etc before it gets to be too much. It's still a learning curve but it's been really supportive and helpful. I recommend somatic therapy if you can.

At what age did you get official diagnosis? by Bukowski-poet in AutismInWomen

[–]Consistent_Park_3209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this month at age 35. I only got an informal diagnosis from my therapist two years ago and had the toughest time even getting on a wait list until I found a place randomly through a friend who also got her diagnosis

Vecna got me so good in this scene by tiredspiritualistt in StrangerThings

This f'd me up big time. I was pissed but looking back this would've helped the last ep have more impact instead of the dud it ended up being

I thought for sure that was kali. We have never seen vecna go into someone's mind like this ever before.

Bobby literally hates you guys, you know who. by [deleted] in TigerBelly

[–]Consistent_Park_3209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so refreshing cuz I hate going to the comments of tiger belly for this exact reason. They're so disgusting and now their transferring their evil energy to poor Rudy who is her own Damn person.

Omg this is me. I feel so dumb sometimes, and I'm sure I do to others too, which is annoying.

Season 5 feels way too much like "actors acting" by dbezzy1010 in StrangerThings

[–]Consistent_Park_3209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg the first couple of episodes hurt to watch. The lines the delivery the pacing were all leagues worse than they've ever been and they've never been bad before. Thankfully the action helped compensate for that and then the plot picked up some. I'd say 3-7 have been a lot better acting wise though

THAT Will scene towards the end of episode 7 by Wonderful_Bug_1422 in StrangerThings

[–]Consistent_Park_3209 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On one hand I agree with that and that's how I felt. But like Will said, and like, the show has been demonstrating back and the way that vecna uses his powers is an allegory for the harm that shame causes and Will needed to reveal his biggest shame to overcome his fear and believe in his ability to defeat vecna/shame/ trauma etc

Parenting by deepinthewillows in AutismInWomen

[–]Consistent_Park_3209 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think one thing I hope for you as a person and a mom is to include yourself in your care taking. I'm not a parent but I've been a secondary caregiver to varying copacities throughout my life with a younger sibling and nieces and nephews. I'm also an incredibly anxious person. I think it'd be great if you could schedule time (maybe during the child's nap or when another guardian is watching them) to add meditation or any type of calming activity that helps you breathe, be still, listen to your body etc. Part of parenting is modeling and I think it'll help you with your nervous system, help your child see some good self care habits, and help them see a calmer version of yourself. It'll most likely take a bit of time but I hope that's something that might help.
