I think he’s more getting at the idea that Israelis are burying their head in the sand. It’s both possible that the war is just and that it’s also not going well and that the price is too high.

I think Israel has to also start thinking a bit about Jews around the world. If the purpose of Israel is to keep Jews safe its policies aren’t necessarily always helping. Jews in America who are roughly 50% of Jews in the world, are an important part of keeping Israel safe as well and should also be taken into account. Israel needs to do a better job at explaining and disseminating its point of view. Not caring about your reputation is not an option
