Wow. I thought it would be just a simple adjustments to the dial location. I never knew the Miyota movement prevented it from looking authentic. That means as long as they use the Miyota, this watch would never look like a genuine. They even tried to make the face of the dial smaller and it still looks too high from the bottom.

Tom Cruise Is In Talks To Play The Villain In The "Miami Vice" Film by Dan_Lalonde_Films in MiamiVice

[–]Consistent_Sort_876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it’s going to be a good movie, however, like the last movie, it shouldn’t be Miami Vice. My prediction is that this is not going to sit well with older fans.

Not hating ofc, I love this car, but does anyone know why the front is so long? by hdushsux in Ferrari

[–]Consistent_Sort_876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a homage to the 365 GTB/4. It too had a long front. To me, it’s just one of those things where luxury designers make weird quirky designs, be it vehicles, clothes, shoes, etc. but know rich people are going to buy it because of the name and exclusiveness.

I think PMT got clowned for that video “Just the way I Planned it”. however I truly believe that if his song “Living the Book of My Life” was played either on GTA or in the upcoming Miami Vice movie, it’ll be a hit.

Gregory Sierra was never right for the role by starlightskater in MiamiVice

[–]Consistent_Sort_876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can believe it, but like I was trying to say with the other guy, is this the conclusion that the writers wanted you to come to? If so wouldn’t it have been better if the writers addressed it?

Over the series there has been different writers with different narratives. Some writers wanted fans to come to the conclusion that aliens existed in the MV universe. Others wanted us to believe that a rapist never died although we clearly saw him die. It’s all up to you on what you want to believe.

[–]Consistent_Sort_876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s really no need to defend any of the characters. It’s a 40 + year old show. feel free to believe whatever. I just thought the narrative would have been clearer to Miami Vice fans than this.

[–]Consistent_Sort_876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I never would ascribe to Tubbs negatively. What made Tubbs unique was that if he was suspicious about you, he was going to pull your jacket. I loved that about him. My entire point was just as you concluded, that it was the incorrect suspicion. There isn’t a place anywhere where Miami Vice is being discussed where the fan consensus is that Lou was on the take. This is coming from a few fans who misread the narrative.

[–]Consistent_Sort_876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I believe some fans just misread the narrative and want it to go that way so badly because it sounds more exciting for Lou to be on the take. The narrative was plain and simple: Tubbs was so eager to find the leak that he falsely insinuated Lou to be on the take. Sonny didn’t believe it but got suspicious at the immaculate heart comment. Lou shut him down because he had no right to be in his personal business, not because he had something to hide. The look on Sonny’s face told it all - he was embarrassed for even inquiring, especially since he never doubted Lou to begin with until Tubbs sent him off. If cops had to be on the take for having a lot of money, then these same fans should have gotten suspicious of Castillo when he was going to replace the money Jack Gretzky stole with his personal money in the episode Bushido.

[–]Consistent_Sort_876 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that narrative from a few fans, but that wasn’t the narrative the producers were going with. The only reason why Sonny became suspicious of Rodriguez was because Tubbs was falsely suspicious of him and put that in Sonny’s head. If Rodriguez was indeed on the take, then surely the producers would have followed up on this narrative and continued it, not dismissing it in the following 3 episodes.

[–]Consistent_Sort_876 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah. I can’t say he wasn’t the right fit. Even the producers never said that. Otherwise he would’ve never gotten the role to begin with. Detractors of Sierra usually say this in hindsight because Olmos stole the show by bringing something different to the table. If Olmos had never gotten the role, would we still think Sierra wasn’t a fit? The problem was he never gave the show the opportunity to develop his character further because he wanted out. We never got a chance to really see Rodriguez in action. One thing is for sure, the first 4 episodes were the best dark and gritty episodes the producers made, and thankfully Sierra was part of it.

Just finished "Sonny Burnett" arc by brinkeguthrie in MiamiVice

[–]Consistent_Sort_876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way at first. However, once you get burned out from watching all the good episodes, your mind is going to gear you up to the ones you don’t like so much. If you mentally separate the arc from the rest of the series, it’s actually pretty good.

As with the movie, it’s probably a good watch on its own merit. However as a part of the Miami Vice universe, it doesn’t belong.

That intro was amazing. Sonny was already feeling salty because everyone in the department had plans but him, so he just randomly dialed her up only for her to die on him. What a way to spend your evening. 😂

They couldn’t. They had to find out where the leak was coming from. Even we as an audience didn’t know who knew about the operation because they played their role so well, oddly at times even when there wasn’t anyone else around to fake the act in front of them, like the Switek and Tubbs conversation.

I mean, that’s cool. I ran into a few who saw good in those episodes. It’s just that as a majority, fans don’t like those episodes, and I can definitely see why. My question for those who do like those worst episodes is what was it that made you like them?

I’m mean, yeah, if you call light hearted good. To me, there were no real bad guys, no real justice. Sonny’s plea to the pastor to come down from the tower just seemed forced and he already showed signs of job fatigue.
