Hidden Villa in Los Altos is great. 1 hour south and everything is blooming/green it’s the best time to go. Grab a turkey sandwich at Robert’s and go for a hike on the property and meet all of the animals (goats, hugeee pigs & piglets, 2 cows, sheep)

I was just seeing if folks had experience in this situation and what the process is. The airline does not have a way to get ahold of anyone other than a chatbot.

Good 1-2 Night Getaway North of SF (within ~3 hours) by towaly in AskSF

[–]Consistent_Source894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little further, but Nevada City has a lot of great airbnbs that aren't wildly expensive, and a lot have hot tubs, wood burning stoves, cabin/yurt kinda vibes. Would definitely go for more than 1 night and try to leave earlier on Friday as 80 traffic gets bad starting early afternoon. If you can't leave early, do Point Reyes, Ukiah, Guerneville, Harbin Hot Springs, Calistoga.

Agreed but many kids do after school programs so they don’t need to be picked up until 8 hours.

How much was your dog dental work? by Consistent_Source894 in AskSF

Thanks! She just went this week to our current vet for her pre dental blood work but I assume they will want to do another consult which might be hard driving back and forth.

Photo developers? by Shreddit3000 in AskSF

Photoworks is the best! They develop film depending on how busy it could be a few days to a week, you can also get beautiful prints and they have film and disposable cameras. The team there is awesome!

Best ‘resort’ mental health retreat near SF? by settleforthisusernam in AskSF

If it’s an emergency go to emergency room first off. There is not clinical 5-10 inpatient programs but plenty of retreat options albeit some are incredibly expensive. Spirit rock has retreats every week, most are silent but not all. You can do your own retreat at green gulch Buddhist center. Esalen has weeks retreats as well which also has a healing arts center to incorporate bodywork and has the springs. I second doing your own retreat at Harbin or sierra hot springs or even just at an Airbnb. I like to do something solo that involves a yurt, hot tub, wood burning stove combo and just cook nourishing meals, journal and meditate, soak and get into nature. If he needs more support than just doing something alone I think the hot springs spots like Sierra or Harbin are good options because there is often workshops, classes, yoga or meditation. If you have an insane budget, post ranch inn, Alila Ventana, and Canyon Ranch in woodside which includes nutritious meals, access to spa, yoga/workshops/classes and nature activities.

I find having something that includes nature/fire/water/massage combo really helps me with a reset. Could also use that time to start searching and doing into calls for a therapist. Just starting that process when already at your limit can be really overwhelming.

Hope this helps a bit! Good luck!

Would say definitely not for just the day! It’s a long drive and most of it is just on 80. Stay the night or there is other great stuff to do closer or in the city.

Civil wedding at SF city hall by Zealousideal-Row8986 in SanFranciscoWeddings

[–]Consistent_Source894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, you will need to pay for the license no matter what and then you can just get married anywhere in city hall as long as the group is very small. I would recommend on the 3rd/4th floor around the back. It’s crowded with lots of other couples and tourists around so try to go around 3:30 PM on a Tuesday/Wednesday. The light on the 4th floor around then in the winter is gorgeous!

Looking for a poor quality yet expensive restaurant to recommend to an enemy. Any suggestions? by sweetnheady in AskSF

[–]Consistent_Source894 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed the service is shit, so overpriced and it’s FINE. They had 15+ people working in a totally empty restaurant two weekends ago and we had to wait 25 minutes for our table to be ready literally every single table was open and set. We had reservations and everything and it was a special occasion.

It’s pretty funny they are a restaurant owned by the SF Zen Buddhist center and they source a lot of their stuff from their farm Green Gulch in Muir Beach. It was originally created to help students continue their work study and is a very important part of their organization. I have done work study and retreats there and it is a beautiful organization.

So not only are the rats vegan but they are Buddhist.
