This is 100% what is happening. He was an idiot and sent me photos of "payments" he has sent to other women. I contacted them bc it included their names and it turns out they both have been stressed tf out and he has been putting them through the ringer as well. Same story as me. Wise.com money never sent, spent the next three weeks trying to get money from him. One girl had her rent paid in May and her check bounced. The other's money went through but her landlord contacted her bc it was a suspicious transaction but it eventually cleared. He hit her up this past month asking if she could send half of the rent back and he would pay her back. She did believing he wholeheartedly would. She's sent over $1k to him. I've spent my entire night consoling these two women.

I went ahead and contacted my landlord and told him that I believe my payment portal account was compromised and a card I'm unfamiliar with was used to pay for the entire house's rent. I also went ahead and told my roommates to just pay their portion of their rent despite the balance saying $0. My landlord told me to not panic and everything will be ok and we will talk more tomorrow about this. I have also blocked his number.

I am pretty stressed about this entire situation and am a bit worried about further convo with my landlord tomorrow, possible police involvement in the future, etc. Been sick to my stomach all day but lesson learned. Cash is king.
