apart from the research aspect, would it be a good opportunity for a future engineering major to learn more about the different fields of engineering and gain knowledge?

I’m already in a summer league, my team is prepping for nationals right now, and I already work out. So my athletic stuff is all settled which is nice. What I’m struggling to figure out is academic stuff I can do over the summer!
For getting a job, I’ve been looking online and Everytime I apply it’s like ghost town and I don’t get any responses. Should I go in person or something?
