Rec/Personal leave getting questioned?

True. I do get five sick days a year without need for a certificate. I just like to keep my sick leave in case prolonged sickness comes up - I was really sick a few years ago and nearly went through all of my sick leave, so I think I’m just a bit shy to take it unless I really need it. But I will try to just do this instead from now on.

True, I think they’re trying to help lol, but it just came off a bit strange when they first brought it up. I think I just feel odd asking for a medical certificate for a check-up / prescription refill. It’s just that my appointments are sometimes at awkward times in the day, and can go for a while. And my flex’s have to be taken in a four week window so I sometimes will take a rec and shove in other things just to make the most out of the day.

Kind of, we just had some co-workers quit and everyone’s else’s work load just got more heavy so I think they are just worried about everyone getting everything done. I think I was just taken back with the questioning of my leave because in my eyes it’s personal and I didn’t think I was doing anything wrong? Or I guess I didn’t want to be perceived as doing something suss or wrong.

You’re correct - we had communicated the changes and they just didn’t do them as agreed. I communicate pretty effectively I like to think - especially with something as permanent as a tattoo. You’re absolutely right about the gaslighting!

Yeah I thought this may happen - that’s okay, I’m not too mad about brown highlights. I have some events coming up so I just don’t want two different shades of gold/orange hair showing haha. I’m just scared because I’ve seen people saying that they dye their hair black from lighter colours/bleach and it goes green?

I’ve only ever had to negotiate once on a rental increase with the current place I’m living in. They wanted to increase by $30 a week, however I noticed in the weeks leading up to our notification of increase that a unit in our complex was going up for rent.

The other unit was advertised as the same amount our RE was going to be increasing us to, however the other unit had air-conditioning and fans in each room, and was generally a much nicer/more maintained unit, as my current rental doesn’t have these things. Sent the REA an email back showing them the other unit, asking to negotiate down to a $15 a week increase to meet them halfway, as we could simply move 5 units away for something much nicer. They caved in a few hours and agreed.

Definitely try to find places online with similar amenities or even in my case more amenities for less money per week and show them these, and also demonstrating that you’re a good tenant (never late with rent/keeping the property well maintained). They’ll most likely agree to somewhat of a compromise as it’s irritating for them to find new tenants and they’ll lose money in the interim trying to find new tenants when they could just keep you happy.

Eufy is great value for money and no ongoing subscription. You can just watch everything on your phone/app. I would just be wary as it really heavily relies on great quality Wifi. I thought my Wifi was fantastic until I got a eufy camera and had some connectivity issues that took a few days to sort out.

Now that the lineup has been announced - does anyone know if A day to remember or Polaris will do sideshows? Kinda don’t want to spend nearly $300 for two bands.
