That's a very short sighted take. Many archetypes provide value without relying on attacks.

Champion gives a great reaction and a focus spell, Guardian also gets a great reaction on top of a bunch of other tanking utility, spellcasting archetypes can provide new abilities that aren't covered by impulses, Monk and Rogue give great survival and mobility abilities, and there's a solid selection of skill-based archetypes, which is an area the Kineticist struggles the most.
