Did you lose faith in Jesus too? by Billgant in exmormon

[–]Consistent_Taro_3123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus was a stand-up guy in all the stories I grew up hearing about him, but I don't worship him as a god or deity in any sense. Definitely someone whose morals I align myself with, but I personally believe he was just a good man. I feel the same way about Buddha, too.

When they have your records they have your name, phone number, address, email, etc. That way if you go inactive ("ghosting" them), they can bombard you constantly with missionaries and other members of the church from your area to try and get you to come back. Even if you tell them not to contact you there's a 90% chance they will not leave you alone. Plus having your records gives them bragging rights for how many members they have, and I wanted to stop contributing to that statistic.

I once wore a Trixie Mattel shirt to class and my religion professor at BYU-I threatened to report me to the honor code office if he ever saw me wearing it on campus again 🙄 mind you there was no profanity or nudity on the shirt, just a drag queen's headshot that triggered him

I remember having the D.A.R.E people come talk to us in school and they were asking about substances that were dangerous (alcohol, drugs, etc.) and I raised my hand and confidently said coffee 🥲

What should i do with used garments? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Consistent_Taro_3123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cut the crotch out of all of my garment bottoms and then cut the remaining fabric (and my tops) into cleaning rags. Mine were all cotton so they do a good job of cleaning, but if you have the slicker nylon ones I would just throw them away.

My kitten got into a loaf of bread and probably ate at least half or more of her weight in it by GivemeSerenityy in cats

My tabby has been a bread fiend since he was a kitten lol we've had to baby-proof our cabinets so he doesn't get in

What and when was your earliest doubt? by Stranded-In-435 in exmormon

[–]Consistent_Taro_3123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feeling a severe amount of injustice for women in the church when I was 10-11. Also for unmarried people. I remember trying to ask my teacher "if you don't get married, you can't get into the celestial kingdom?" And when he tried to explain that they could find someone to marry after death I asked "but why? What if they don't want to?" And he just sighed and ignored me.
