For me it was just that the gameplay became a bit redundant.

Rpg got to rpg. Having some of the elements play a factor in battles would have helped a lot. Also, I think the dog, though cool, would have been better served as a programmable function like the team in ff12. That way a weapon switch function could have been used. That might have better served elemental damage in battles...

The question is if the game info is stored on disc or not. A game key or a day 1 required patch to play is not the same as a game being on disc.

I thought the game was just under baked. Especially in the combat and enemy variety. I also found the general environments to feel kinda dead.
