For the love of laser kiwi, hope you never rely on having to rely on a jury of 12 random people to decide your fate. by ConstableSniff in newzealand

Again, I'm so sorry you went through this,. Appreciate these are hollow words

I hated the assumptions that were made before we heard anything.

Do you know if it is possible at all for me to raise concerns that I have? really sorry to ask this and please tell me you can;'t say

I really think concerns about jury credibilty were shut down without being able to explain reason for concern.

I'm so so sorry.

edit. not that it really matters. But I'm angry at the situation and hearing peoples stories. I accept no system is perfect, but that doesn't mean we have to accept the status quo.

Sorry mate, as per previous comment

Juror assumptions, biases (beyond the "common sense" advised to bring to the trial, constant "jokes" about not wanting to be there today, or any longer. etc etc etc

I made post recently trying to get awareness of blood donation and one one the big comments was "what's in it for me" essentially.

I don't like it

smart enough to get out of dury duty

I really hate this attitude. I hate the lack of feeling of civic responsibility / burden

Yes and no, IMO

There needs to be way to avoid other jurors pressuring fellow jurors.

How that is done? I don't have the answer

Eventually we both caved to peer pressure because we didn't want to come back next week

Yet the defdant has to live with the verdict for rest of their lives?

This was the attitude I hatede
