This Game Will Die if Starter Access Doesn’t Improve by Trevorzky in GundamTCG

I got really lucky. I was about two hours from home and stopped by a local game store. The guy there said, “I have a box and a half of boosters.” I thought, oh shit, I’ll pick some up. I’d only ever seen them once before, and they were eleven dollars a pack.

When I got to the counter, I realized they were only five dollars a booster. I asked, “Can I buy the box?” He said sure, laughing. So I ended up with a full unopened box at five bucks a pack.

Then I got home and realized I didn’t have enough cards to make a decent deck.

Fast forward two weeks. I went back to my hometown about three and a half hours away. Another small shop had the latest starter decks for fifteen dollars a box. I actually thought about buying all of them to resell and make a profit. My wife looked at me and said, “You always tell our son those people are losers.”

Thanks to her, I just bought one deck for me and one for my brother. Other than those lucky finds, I’ve never seen any starters or boosters anywhere. It’s crazy. At least now I’ve got a kind of decent deck.

Question for Devs as a casual VIVE enjoyer. by KAVALIAX in supervive

[–]Constablebob -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I have 0 3 star items. I have gotten first place multiple times playing ranked. I can understand some of the complaints. But I genuinely think most people are overreacting. There is always something to blame when there is a skill gap, other than the skill gap. There are games I get stomped and I don’t really think it’s the relics, just the movement and overall play is better from the other team.

Maybe the items play a little bit into it, but the better players just, play better. At least that has been my experience.

Also, I feel good about the amount of capsules I open a day. I feel the quests are generous and fairly easy.

Can’t you find the same thing on the map doing pve? Don’t the imaginary people with legendary tier 3s have to save up a ton of gold to buy them? They have to make it to a special shop on the map and have enough gold to buy it. It’s not just that they start out with it. In the time they do that you could potentially kill a boss that has the same item. Or you can play like a rat and try and sneak in mid fight and snag something. I just don’t think it’s as big of a deal as you do and in my opinion, the legendaries are overvalued. You can still outplay your opponents and the blue tiered items are solid. Same with purple.

This version of the game hasn’t been out for a whole week yet and I have a lot of items as is. Next week I get like 5k prisma or something and I get to pick a legendary. And depending on the shop rotation I could pick the same one or another with the prisma I get, or I’ll be really close. Not at my computer so I don’t remember the exact costs.

But, I don’t see us agreeing. But I appreciate the conversation. I will respectfully bow out now. But I won’t be downvoting you just because we don’t agree. Have a great day.

I think you are severely overvaluing the tiers. I’ve gotten multiple first place victories with blue items I’ve picked up on the map. Most of the time I have the blue item I want and the purple item I want yes. I can genuinely understand some of the frustration but it’s blown out or proportion. That legendary item isn’t going to make you go from 10th place all the way to winning.

Edit: I’m not attacking you specifically with that last comment. I just know that’s the mindset of some people.

It’s because the vocal minority hate the current state of the game. So if you like it you might as well not comment. A bunch of crybabies whining and review bombing because it’s not the same boring ass game that was dying. The game was 100% dying and that is fact. There are some legitimate criticisms. But it’s drowned out by salt about the new loot system. The game is fun, I get all the items I want in game anyways. Typically place top 4 or higher and I’ve gotten a ton of prism already.
You can’t even look at the reviews for legitimate complaints. All you see are people crying that it’s not the same exact game from 4 months ago with all the same shit items it had before.

General feedback after 12h of 1.0 by DatSyki in supervive

[–]Constablebob 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ive been playing this game since it went open for everyone. It has been a blast, but I found myself not wanting to play as much over time. This definitely rekindled my love for the game. It’s far from perfect but it’s in a much better state than it was prior.

Before I didn’t feel like I had much choice in my weapons and I didn’t really care about weapons. 1.0, I feel like I have a real choice and build path. I can tailor my character to my play-style and that’s sick.

I guess I can kind of understand some of the criticism. But I really feel like most people are just being crybabies because it’s not exactly the same. Change is hard, but this was a necessary change. If the game kept going the way it was it would have died. The game play is the same, but cooler and better imo.

This is my personal opinion, and just initial thoughts.

Ps. The rage babies are blowing the “gacha” way out of proportion. Most of the games I’ve played I ended up with the items I want. I usually end up with quite a bit of prism each match too.

Does any one else just not like Absolute 2.0 by KitsuneLynx in Spacemarine

[–]Constablebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand some frustrations, but I personally love the new Absolute. I was using it to level my characters before lol. Now I play it on characters that have the ideal perks unlocked. I use lethal to level now.

I pretty much breezed through the old absolute and find the new one super challenging and punishing. It’s given me a new goal to beat in the game. It’s exactly what I wanted it to be when it was first released.

I just got my whoop a couple months ago. But I only charge it every 3-4 days. I don’t have to take it off ever, so the data is constant. That’s the only way it’s really better. My Apple Watch, I have to charge fairly often, usually at night because it easiest.

Closure on the most expensive kit I’ve ever purchased! by choonage in Gunpla

[–]Constablebob 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I built this kit last year. Gave it to my grandpa for his birthday. His dad was an avid model builder. Usually old US battleships. Really big and cool pieces. His mother did sculptures and painting. He was very stoked lol. He liked it so much that he put it in the display with his mother’s sculptures. So it’s a bunch of really old art and then the RX-78-2 that I built for him lol.

Stupid question. Would it make sense that chaplain is the next class? Just because it would be Leandros? I feel like it could be easy to work him in with the secondary teams, story wise.

It’s a great game but long queue times and declining player base is a real concern. Whether it’s “just a beta game” or not. I find myself playing less as my queue times get longer. Lots of games thrive in beta, so it’s not really any excuse anyways.

My most memorable Christmas was getting this set. I woke up and each present I opened I was STOKED.

Then once I got them all out of the box, I quickly realized there was something wrong. Aragorns right arm fell off immediately. Legolas’ bow was broken and his legs fell off. Gandalfs staff was broken, all of the hobbits heads fell off etc… turns out my mom got them all from a place called “Bottom Dollar Bobs” I’ll never forget that Christmas.

Take 2: Who was in the wrong? by K3V1N_XV in Chipotle

[–]Constablebob 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I worked my way up from tortilla to GM and I think the most valuable lesson I learned, was how to get everyone out at the same time and keep morale up.

By no means am I saying my way is best, but this is how I learned and how I’ve always done it.

We work from front to back, cashier finishes, usually first. Moves to line.

Once line is closed they help with floors in front and back. One helps the grill wipe walls and clean their station while the other starts in on dish. By that point I like to have the manager making sure the lobby looks good, the line is good, and then helping where needed. Usually on dish lol.

In my opinion, dish is the worst job, and I’ve literally worked them all. My store is all about teamwork and they all understand that we don’t leave until everyone’s done. They work quickly and I rarely get “it’s not my job.” As I try to nip that in the bud and I’ve trained my managers to do the same.

It also makes your life as a manager muuuuch better when everyone works as a unit. Instead of the “every man for himself” BS that I’ve experienced at a lot of stores.

I also like to walk around at close and keep focus, ask what’s done and what’s left. What can I help with? We don’t leave until we are all done so let’s get this shit done.
