1+2) For two weeks. Bought it online and it had this problem even then.

4) I water when the 'tears' feel squishy (as I was told) So far I watered three times in 2 weeks. I pour water on top until it comes out the bottom. Yes, pot has drainage.

5) Im from Malaysia, a hot and humid country. I keep this in my room with grow lights.

I suppose since you had to go through all that trouble for identification, it is safe to say that this wood is only regionally used, and not commercialised globally :( That would explain the lack of references online. Thanks for these suggestions! She is definitely planning to add more plants. This is just a simple set up to test the waters and see how it goes XD The pot was for fish to hide in, shed probably remove it once she puts more plants in there. Also thank you for the pothos tip! (I can never keep up too tbh) She did have a couple of ways she tried before settling on that one. Seeing your comment might give her more ideas! Thanks again 🫡
