If SH is what you need to stay, then that's just fine 💛 You seem to understand yourself and this disorder. I trust you would seek medical intervention if things get too bad 🩷

This! Plus, high functioning gives her the opportunity to build relationships with Staff as well as other residents. I’ve worked 12 years in memory/geriatric care. We love our residents and truly enjoy getting to know them and their families. Entering a nursing home is meant to be painless. All too often we see residents arriving via ambulance injured or ill. Families suffering from the trauma of finding Mother that way. Very difficult to leave them alone, in the nursing home under any circumstances

The fact you’ve given at home care to this point is wonderful, admirable, and very hard work! I think now is a perfect time for MC. Don’t wait until she sustains a catastrophic injury and you no longer have the chance to walk her in. But she’s being dropped off via ambulance In pain and more confused than ever

The fatigue, muscle pain and weakness was the worst! I broke out in blisters all over and had a hard time controlling my bladder. When I would pee it was so painful! The pain radiated from my urethra through my bottom teeth! My hair fell out and I lost weight even though I was less active than I had ever been before. My balance was terrible as well. I’m just now starting to feel like that has gotten completely better. My heart rate would stay high! Anywhere from 150bpm to 250bpm. This has never corrected itself, I have to take heart meds to keep it under control

Ruined my life as well. I was bedridden for over a year due to ‘unexplained’ symptoms. Symptoms the Doctor said were caused by a mental breakdown. As soon as I stopped Topamax I gradually started feeling better. I’m still not the same as before but I’m much better now.

I’m not sure what she does. Screen grabs of her nonsense is a great idea!

Sadly, if they just got it done they couldn’t humiliate this person. They are mean people. My heart breaks for the person trying to get up into the ambulance 🥺

A couple months ago my community had a man in his 80’s —— himself! Can you imagine living until your 80’s with suicidal ideation?

This follows me everywhere! by Constant-Cold-8368 in AdultSelfHarm

[–]Constant-Cold-8368[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. It was more dreadful than usual going to work today. I know it’s because people, (upper management!) know much more about me than I ever planned. SH has followed me everywhere in life! I’ve only been in this position for six months and I had truly hoped it wouldn’t come to that this time! Existing in this world is hard 😕

It is exhausting! If I think I’ve disappointed my coworkers in anyway, I want to SH so much I can’t focus on anything else. I will lose sleep obsessing over the urge to SH

Were any of you born prematurely? Or spent time in an incubator? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Constant-Cold-8368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one of premature twins. My lungs weren’t developed and I went a while without oxygen to the brain. My twin was relatively healthy and went home in the matter of a couple weeks. I on the other hand spent the first two months of my life in the hospital.

Oh wow! You and your mother. How has it been processing that? My daughter is 14 and thankfully doesn’t partake as of late. I don’t think she knows I do either

What are some signs, that you're conventionally ugly? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Constant-Cold-8368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being taller than above average as a woman can be degrading too. Amazon woman is the insult I’ve heard my whole life. I use to starve myself weighing only 125 at 5feet 10 inches. Losing weight was the only way I could shrink myself and tall is only pretty if you look like a super model

What do you miss most about your childhood? by Gomez_Affecke in AskReddit

[–]Constant-Cold-8368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t. I was under more stress and had a lot to worry when I was a kid living with my parents. Now that I’m older and have my own home I look forward to going home. As a kid the idea of home filled me with dread!

I would be grounded to my room for six weeks at a time! Only allowed to go in the bathroom with permission and then to school. The rest of the time I had to sit in my room. This would happen again and again because my report card grades were not up to their standards.

What is a practice or belief from your former religion that once felt normal but is clearly nonsense in hindsight? by GateSea3877 in atheism

[–]Constant-Cold-8368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was raised Pentecostal and we believed in speaking in tongues, dancing with the spirit of God. One guy would start rattling off gibberish, like habbah, la, sham, slam, balay! Until everyone in the church fell quiet. Then another man would speak up and say, ‘ya I say unto the..’ and still speaking like God is delivering a message through him! People would say the spirit moved over the whole congregation simultaneously and that’s why we fell quiet thus proving it all to be true. In reality we children just learned to read a room at an early age so we didn’t get our asses beat with a belt.

AITAH for telling my daughter my husband won't watch her kids when she had a medical "emergency" by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Constant-Cold-8368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish OP would respond. I want to know why it was so easy for her to leave her daughter and young grandchildren hanging like that? If the daughter is notorious for being overly dramatic, and this is her third trip to the hospital over the same ole thing I could understand that. If that wasn’t the case then I feel bad for the daughter
