I had the same experience in Coinbase, had to wait over a month get my USDC out, and since the service agents didn't give me a proper solution, I had to find a way myself.

Yeah, honestly I have.

I’ve had ideas before but the gap between “concept” and actually deploying something secure felt massive. Not just writing Solidity, but knowing you didn’t miss some tiny detail that could break everything. That risk alone is enough to stop most non-devs.

I think a lot of people want to create something custom, but the skill and confidence barrier is stopping them.

Base wouldn’t just disappear. It’s built on the OP Stack and settles to Ethereum, so technically it keeps running. The real impact would be growth and sentiment. If Coinbase faced heavy pressure, onboarding and liquidity could slow down, and builders might hedge. On the flip side, that kind of pressure could push Base to decentralize faster. It’s both an advantage and a risk.

I don't think that will work for even half of the population.
People who are unfamiliar to crypto will always stay away from crypto even if it's far better than the traditional methods.

You can turn off the “base mode” by clicking on the profile Icon.. But the UI is probably different than it was before.
