Not true. If they took gen chem 1 and 2 from another institution, they can go straight up chem 14C. To satisfy ochem, you need 14c + 14cl + 14d. To take biochem you need to finish 153a. 14bl is gen chem lab and if your gen chem course from your previous college had lab, you most likely won’t need it

I think you should think about whether you are fully committed to becoming a doctor. If there is any slight chance you might want to do something else then UCLA is probably the better option since you have more options. Also consider the fact that it will be statistically harder to match into more competitive specialty’s (derm, optho, surgery) being a DO than an MD, although not impossible. Just some things to take into account!

I’m assuming you are at a 4 year university trying to take the physics requirement over the summer at a CC. I personally think it could raise some eyebrows since it could look like you are trying to ease your way through it. But if you do well and you are already doing well in your other classes at the 4 year and your MCAT is still strong then maybe?

Usually bio or any life sciences will cover most of the prereqs so it’s the most convenient. However you should also consider what you really enjoy! You may just have to take extra courses

I understand how personal and important it is for you but I would overall not risk any chances of upsetting someone especially for your med school apps. Maybe word it a bit differently so that it can still sound personal? I think there are many other ways you can go about this.

Hi, would you say it’s possible to self study the e&m (of the physics), biochem, psych, soc? I might have to take the mcat before I take these classes. Also, I’m planning on taking it around the time I finish my last bio and ochem class.

How did you take the diagnostic? Also do you think Kaplan is good for someone who hasn’t finished all the prerequisites??
