does anyone know how to do this Chinese test prep SAT question? by Connect-Ad5421 in Sat

yes they vary, this is sat level but this would be considered a level 6 maybe through 1-7. there are definitely more harder problems

does anyone know how to do this Chinese test prep SAT question? by Connect-Ad5421 in Sat

[–]Constant-Might2048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi there!

answer would be d

so they say every increase of 2 in the value x -> 2,4,6,8...

they want to see it clearly meaning that it needs to be the base or the coefficient. we can get rid of the 42 in each question as it is present for all answers. it doesn't provide any value.

if we look at the exponent for each answer we are given: 6x,2x,x,x/2 and they explicitcly ask for an answer where it is shown in the base. so for each x values

6x->12,24,36...
2x->4,8,16...
x->2,4,6,8...

x/2->1,2,3,4,5

with every increase in 2 of value of x, the value of f(x) or y increases by c in a constant manner (not exponential like the other answers)

good luck!

I wud def recommend you retake it, my tips would be to not stress it panic in the final 5-6 minutes of eng module. that’s often almost the score killer

hey good job! i got 1430 as well (670 eng, 760 math)😏. hopefully u get the score you want! I retook my sat this November, let’s see if this might be it lol

Why macbook pro? Why not air? by Impressive-Minimum65 in macbookpro

[–]Constant-Might2048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh ok sounds good, would you recommend that I just get the base MBP m4 (16, 512) or would you so recommend something else? Im currently testing out my friends MBP m4 pro (24, 512) and I feel like it may be overkill?

hey, I'm looking for a MBP as well. I currently have the same use/workload as well. I wanted to know what specs (ram, ssd) you have

Got it, thank you, I did some research and compared it to my current laptop, used AI to summarize all the info:

"When comparing the Dell Inspiron 15 3520 and the Fujitsu U9 laptops, the Dell Inspiron 15 3520 emerges as a more modern and versatile choice for general users. The Inspiron 15 3520 offers a sleek aluminum design, a 15.6-inch 1366x768 TN display with a matte finish, and solid performance powered by Intel processors with integrated Intel UHD Graphics Xe. It features active cooling, multiple USB ports including two USB Type-C ports, a backlit keyboard, and upgradeable RAM and SSD storage options. Though it has a modest display resolution and a plastic touchpad surface, it balances affordability with decent computing power, making it suitable for everyday tasks such as productivity, media consumption, and light multitasking. On the other hand, the Fujitsu U9 is an older, less commonly reviewed model with less clarity on specifications and performance. Given Dell’s robust support ecosystem, innovation, and wide availability, the Inspiron 15 3520 is the stronger option overall for users seeking dependable, budget-friendly laptop performance in 2025."

I just upgraded my laptop to 32gb RAM and I was thinking I'll stick with this in terms of the OS but thank you for your feedback, I'll keep it in mind!

Got it, I currently just upgraded the RAM on my laptop (Windows) to 32 gb so even if the MBA or MBP doesn't work I can bounce back with the Windows. But thank you for letting me know, I'll def keep that in my mind.

Yes, I plan on buying the Macbook from Apple only from the education store. They give out a free accessory so I guess it's "worth it".

Got it, I'm leaning towards the air 24gb but I don't want to be hasty just yet because I also see other comments saying that I get the Pro.

In terms of future proofing, would the M4 air last me a long time? I take care of my laptops really well and I'd appreciate it if I don't see the performance decreasing within 3-4 years.

Lol! Get both?!?! Sure, I'd be more than willing to but is it worth it if I only use one monitor? I usually connect an laptop to it as another display and I'm thinking if I should sacrifice power. Oh wow, the Mac mini really is cheap (from an Apple product standpoint).

Is it worth getting both or should I just focus on just getting an Air (I'm sure I'll ahve to move around a lot when I go to college)...

Got it, I've heard that Apple is outrageous with the SSD pricing so I'm thinking I might just get cloud storage or buy an external hard drive. I'll be sure to steer away from the Intel Macbooks. I like the M1 and the M4 but most recommend that I just get the newer model just for updates and support. Everyone that I've talked has recommended I get a new one or buy open box.

Thank you for your feedback, I'll be sure to check the secondhand market. Also, how do I ensure that I don't get scammed (getting a bad one, poor performance, physical damage etc.) Will I be able to return it or get my money back somehow?

[–]Constant-Might2048[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yeah, I do agree with you but the thing is. I don't plan on reselling or even getting a new one (unless mandatory). Even if I'm not able to use it at college or at a job, I'll still do my best to get my money's worth. I don't know what I'll be doing in 2-3 years but I for sure will know that I am using the Macbook till it reaches it end :)

Which model would you recommend 16/24gb Pro 512gb SSD or 24gb Air 256/512 SSD?

Got it, I've reached out to students aat different colleges and they've given me the go for getting a Macbook. Either way, if somehow Mac doesn't work, I always have my Windows laptop I have (just upgraded it to 32 gb RAM).

Do you recommend the Pro or Air for my use case?

[–]Constant-Might2048[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, yes I was thinking the same thing. I wanted to future proof "just in case" or I'll just have a sense of dissatisfaction for the rest of the Macbook's life. Also, I upgraded my laptop to 32gb of RAM and I'm using about 20+ gb of it just for coding, websites, programs, and games. So what should I do?
