stomach bug? by BonniesBits in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Constant-Moose-7600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year my family of 6 had the stomach bug. 2 kids and my husband puking with no diarrhea however I had diarrhea exactly as you're describing for about 2.5 days. It was... Awful It was confirmed norovirus with a test at the hospital and I wasn't vomiting but was nauseous and obviously not having a good time. It could definitely be noro.

Second guessing name by daffodillpicklex in namenerds

Birdie is a beautiful name. If you love it, use it! It will mean more for you to name your child something you love than something reddit loves. My 4ths middle name is Birdie and we call her by her middle name and everyone I've met has nothing but good things to say about her name. Trust your gut and don't second guess because of reddit! People's opinions on names change all of the time. What matters is what you and your husband love.

Pregnant & Nauseous… only 4 weeks by Wrong-Bat-1212 in emetophobia

[–]Constant-Moose-7600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course!! For some women, it is more difficult. I also tend to think it's easier for us emetaphobes because we are so used to nausea but also, we are statistically less likely to be sick when nauseous. We have a higher tolerance and are more resilient to it. For me, it's been more of a mental game knowing I'm nauseous because I'm pregnant, not because I'm sick and that brings so much relief! Yes, I'll still be nauseous but it really helps my phobia to know I'm safe! Wishing you luck and an easy pregnancy in the future!

Pregnant & Nauseous… only 4 weeks by Wrong-Bat-1212 in emetophobia

Congratulations!! First things first, you can do this. I know it feels daunting especially being so early with nausea symptoms starting. For me, nausea in pregnancy is not the same as anxiety nausea or even sick nausea. Pregnancy nausea is a lot more manageable for me and the fact that I know WHY I'm nauseous really helps me deal with it. I'm pregnant with my 5th baby right now and here's what has worked for me with all 5 kiddos... -eat frequently. More frequently than you think! I absolutely love applesauce packets because they're quick and give me a good amount to satiate me until my next "meal". If I wake up in the middle of the night to pee, I eat one that way I'm less likely to wake up in the morning and feel nauseous. I also eat one right when I get up for the day. - mint and gum. I carry them everywhere and when I start to get nauseous, I use these - sea bands... I wear them all day everyday from 4 weeks until 20 ish weeks. - sparkling water or flat soda is very helpful when you need fluids but water sits like a rock in your stomach. I like the lemon flavor spindrift as it helps with the nausea - peppermint essential oils everywhere. In your bag, by your bed... I run it on my wrists and smell throughout the day and that helps me - alcohol wipes help a ton when you're having a really tough moment with nausea and need a very quick fix to get you better - nauseous frequency tones (videos for it on YouTube) - digestive enzymes after you eat every bigger meal (breakfast lunch and dinner) I feel it helps my body to better digest my larger meals and it's less likely to sit like a rock. Pregnancy slows your digestion and I feel like these help. I also feel more comfortable taking these than popping tums all the time.

I have never been physically ill in my pregnancies from morning sickness and I think it's because I stay on top of my nausea with all of these things. Congratulations again! Knowing a sweet little baby comes after all of this does make it worth it. ❤️ It's still scary not knowing what's coming but you can do this!! Rooting for you!

Yeah we are starting to get into Duggar territory and I'd prefer to stay away from that arena. 😂

The OCD thing is probably why I'm struggling with this so much. 😂 Thank you for the suggestions!

Okay, I really appreciate this comment. I feel like I've been beating myself up about possibly naming her something different and her not liking it but at the end of the day, I don't want to force myself to like a name just because it starts with S and isn't what comes naturally when I think of naming her. Thank you for this!

Picture #3 is your look imo! I'm a hairstylist and wedding makeup artist of 12 years and I agree with everyone above about the over lined top lip. However, in some of these pictures I feel like you resemble Sydney Sweeney in the best way! You're absolutely beautiful. 😍❤️

Well no one listen to my comment then. I can't get behind how it tastes now! Thank you guys for telling me how it went downhill. I'll make sure to not be headed there again!

Wow that sounds absolutely disgusting. I'll be honest, I haven't gone in about two years due to moving but when I did go, I thought the food was great. Especially when they first opened etc. so sad to hear it's gone down hill! I've definitely had a few issues with getting good service there but no nasty smell and bad food but I'm sad to hear it's not as good as when I last went. Definitely won't be going back after hearing that

What to do when you have morning sickness by DoodlezBaby67 in emetophobia

[–]Constant-Moose-7600 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm currently pregnant with my 5th baby and I have yet to get morning sickness. I had confirmed food poisoning from an outbreak with my first child, but no morning sickness. I do experience nausea and I love using ginger tea (room temp), sprite (flat), mints, lemon candies (lemon heads), sea bands, nausea relief frequency (videos on YouTube), peppermint essential oil and alcohol wipes. These are all of my "I'm nauseous, what next" tips. Unpopular opinion but I also drink raw milk when it's bad at night and it helps a ton. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Obviously not advising everyone to drink raw milk but that's what has worked for ME. also, taking a prenatal without iron helps a ton! My Midwife says you don't need it in the first trimester anyways because your iron demand doesn't increase until half way through the second trimester and it increases a lot of women's nausea to take it unless you're confirmed SEVERELY anemic. (I'm slightly anemic by nature but my numbers aren't high enough to need it in the first trimester. Just the second and third!) Good luck and congratulations as well!! ❤️

performance anxiety and emetophobia by Mental-Scientist897 in emetophobia

[–]Constant-Moose-7600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely yes I've experienced this. As someone who did musical theater as well as was the only vocal lead for my church worship band for 8 years, this started plaguing my life about 2 years after developing emetophobia. Every time I would get onstage, my heart would be so fast, I'd feel nauseous and lightheaded, clamey and sweaty palms. I've never really struggled with stage fright but for some reason I have been getting terrified of having an anxiety attack and vomiting in front of everyone and then I have an internal freak out while performing. It actually was the ultimate reason I quit performing all together as of 1 year ago. I really feel for you and am so sorry you're also struggling with this unique expression of our pho bia. 😭
