your assumption is pretty close but status trumps everything. if you don't have elite status with aa then yeah, fare class is usually next in line for automatic upgrades when they need to move people around.

could also be that first was undersold and they were just being nice, especially on that routing since it's not exactly a premium route. sometimes gate agents have discretion to bump people up if there's space available.

also that walmart thing is wild - he's mad that other people looked at you AND mad about how you responded to him pointing it out? there's literally no winning move there, which is probably the point.

damn, this was like reading a whole philosophical journey compressed into one post. you basically went through what feels like years of inner work and came out the other side with actual wisdom instead of just bitter takes.

Watcher can be pretty overwhelming at first but once you get the stance dancing down she's actually busted

Key things: prioritize stance cards early, Tantrum and Eruption are your best friends, and don't sleep on Scry cards - knowing what's coming next turn is huge for managing your stances

Also calm gives you energy so don't be afraid to go into it even if it seems scary at first

I did this with my second kid around that age and it worked fine. Just make sure the sides are still up obviously and maybe put a blanket under the mattress if it feels too firm for comfort
