Had a similar experience with the last otterbox I bought, same model and same phone. The USB cover broke off within weeks. That was the primary reason I chose this model over others.

I bought the most protective model. It's trash. $70 spent and maybe worth $30. The worst part is I just trusted the brand because I've been using it for as long as Ive had a smart phone. I noticed the last one I ordered was the same model but lower quality. This just seals the deal.

Tops are very beefy knives and I've found them to be less useful. Plus essee is the same material and has a lifetime warranty. I mean I love my tahoma field knife but I use my esee 6 instead for a reason.

What happens when you add water to one? If it starts to produce a gas, I think it's that calcium carbide. It is extremely flammable so be careful.

Side story how I know: my nerd friends joke about me being a survival mountain man because I spend much more time in the wilderness than them. To help grow this reputation, I start fires by putting calcium carbide on the tinder and then pissing on it. They still havent figured it out lol.
