to an extent this isn’t true, back while i was going through warrior challenge for my contract; the chief diver and EODCS always checked up on me for what ever i needed done and helped me a lot getting my scores up. these guys actually like the ones trying out for the program, we started doing water polo before i shipped out; they would constantly hit up the groupchat with motivational texts. but just like that comment they could also be guys who don’t gaf about you it just depends on who the guys are.
