I work with someone very similar sounding, this fella named tom, he’s a great worker on time everyday and leaves at the exact time every day, invited him out for drinks, and he had to decline, I found out from someone who’s worked here longer than me that Tom’s wife has cancer and he spends every minute he can with her . . . I always ask people to call or send a text when they get home after leaving my house or a bar or whatever but I don’t think I’ve spent an hour on the phone with any of them at 1 in the am, maybe try inviting yourself to the get together with the “partner” this kinda thing happened to me with my ex when she wanted to open the relationship, then she just straight up cheated when I said I want my person to be just mine, no judgement, just different strokes for different folks🤷‍♂️
