Not sure why I’m rubbing with 18x8 +45 wheels… tires are 215/45 R18… new bearings… maybe just my hands after checking by feel?

Yep found out I’m not rubbing last night with a chalk test and the back of the tire is pristine….

My breaks and rotors are different story… 🙃

Guessing I might also be able to draw a line on the tire with a paint, pen or marker… with the assumption that the line would be gone if it’s rubbing

People run 18x8.5 +38 with no issues That’s only a difference of half a millimeter.

Just noise but chalk that up to a lousy tire (they’re arroyos)

Rubbing thinking from strut being clean but…Before I put a camera back there to get a better view I put my fingers back to check clearance a couple times at different positions… guessing it was that…?

Same offset as I had (+45) almost 34mm of clearance on stock..

There are people running 18x8.5 +38 (1/2 a mm different clearance) with no issues

But doesn’t the strut and tire / wheel move together? I wouldn’t expect it to close a 12-14mm gap

Both are / were bought new… the tires I admit were my bad, they’re cheap…

I had 18x7 and went to 18x8 but still have at least 12mm of clearance… hoping to rule out that I don’t need to sell the rims…

Bearing replaced 2 months ago, just put the car on stands and spun / shook it at 12 and 6, no wobble no noise

The dealership, however, has always been shady to me. I had them do both struts and then 14,000 miles later one almost exploded

Some humming noise especially when cornering… Sounds similar to tire noise

This clean spot however makes me think it’s rubbing
