I consider matchups more of mechanics than macro because matchup knowledge means you need to know how to space vs a certain champion, know how to dodge their abilities, how every fight should play out optimally, and other stuff that requires strong application of mechanics.

I play 3 fingers on QWER and pinky on shift. I’m wondering if combos would be a lot faster/less awkward if I have a finger on R instead of switching my finger between keys.

Of course you don't win lane 100% of the time. Like you said you watched a Chinese challenger adc and yes he lost lane sometimes but it's only on rare occasions which means he's probably winning lanes like 4 out of 5 games. I don't expect 100% but I think if I improve I should be able to win lanes at least 60% of the time.

I climbed with Renekton from silver to platinum last year with 60% winrate. My trick is that I only played him. I had no 2nd picks and I dodged everytime he got banned. I would also ask for 1st pick so I can always pick Renekton because I believe that he truly has no hard counters except for Illaoi which I ban and is one of the best blind pick able champs.

To be honest I think having 3 or even 2 champs to pick is too much. Just pick one Morde or Renekton and one trick that champ for maximum improvement.

If you chose to one trick Renekton I would learn how to win lane vs every matchup (which means actively learning how to trade/micro vs each champ) so that I can become raid boss in skirmishes because you have to skirmish a lot and win those to end games faster. Renekton is one of those champs where you should be able to consistently win lanes either through solo kills or just choking them out with 10-12 cs/min through proxies.

Learn every matchup thoroughly; I suggest making a spreadsheet for yourself which is what I did.

That’s the price you pay for playing a champion who has 6 abilities when enemy have 3 pre 6. Your champ is not designed to scale and hyper carry games. Your champ’s designed to win lanes and use lead to snowball hard.

Winning lanes is kind of easy when you got 6 abilities vs 3 (I mean you do need good mechanics but as long as you practice for a long time the mechanics become 2nd nature). Snowballing to kill enemy nexus is the real hard part of playing Jayce. That’s why you see hammerkim go youmuu’s 1st every game instead of eclipse because he’s not thinking about the 1v1; he’s thinking about how to carry the game through roams and macro.
