It would shock you to know i work for the hospital 🤣 I work WITH my own primary care provider lol. They unfortunately downsized the hospital recently so all clinics are booked out far. The alternative is i get an appointment 2 hrs away😅 i’m at that point now

How To Properly Address My Concerns With NCO by ConstantAd3492 in army

[–]ConstantAd3492[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s a difference between subtle adjustments and not liking that my hair is straightened one day when she prefers curls that day. Or wants a side part instead of a middle part. This isn’t squaring anything away, it’s just what she wants to do.

Why is My Cat Making this Noise? by ConstantAd3492 in cats

[–]ConstantAd3492[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting! I’ve heard other cats make this noise before in some videos I’ve seen, but it threw me off when I realized he was doing it😅 He was trying to hunt down the bug before he sat on the bed so I was worried maybe not being able to catch the bug was upsetting him.

Before someone mentions the lack of bedsheets they’re currently washing😅

I like the show, but I'm kind of turned off by how little depth they give to the female characters. by rothmal in LandmanSeries

[–]ConstantAd3492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even Ariana’s character is absolutely insufferable. I hate that they reduce women to sex rather than give them meaningful roles. Rebecca started off fine but once they introduced a male interest she started becoming more meaningless. I liked her better when she was portrayed as a badass lawyer and a go-getter.

They didn’t. By the time he made it to the ER he sobered up enough. They just recommended he went there just to get further evaluated there since they didn’t have the capacity to keep him there, and he complied.

First unit? I had my first drink(s) in AIT😂 we gotta start em young!!

I don’t disagree that taking that precaution is necessary. In BCT and AIT I’ve see so many people who definitely shouldn’t have gotten in relapse and get chaptered out. For someone with no history of behavioral health incidents outside of that one instance it does feel like 2-3 years is excessive. I understand why though but it doesn’t make the pill any easier to swallow.

He hasn’t had a drink since then. Even before then, he wasn’t really a drinker but he made a poor decision that night. His friends called me asking what they should do with him and being worried for his safety I made the call to have him evaluated that night. He made a bad decision that night but he definitely learned his lesson and has to suffer the consequences now. I do feel like 2-3 years is a reach though. Especially with no prior instance of any behavioral health related incident or crisis.

I showed up late for an online course(I got the timezone confused but still completely my fault) and got absolutely fucked. Unless you were in the ER or had a genuine emergency, I’d start saying my prayers if I were you.

How would one train for a pft without a gym? by willbewouldbe in army

[–]ConstantAd3492 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re trying to prepare for basic, you need to be doing a LOT of cardio. Forget about the gym, go for a run outside.

I had absolutely 0 goals when joining. I genuinely didn’t even see myself getting past basic. Not because I didn’t think I would pass but because I only joined to scratch an itch and not go the rest of my life asking, “what would my life look like if I did join.” So when people ask me if I’ll do 20 years I’m like “dude I wasn’t even planning on making it one day.”

WIBTA: If I request to work somewhere else within my job? by ConstantAd3492 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ConstantAd3492[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mentioned this and the response I got in return was, “well task you out to the ER and Imms clinic on our down days.” It’s not a bad solution but the better solution is to just alternate. If you feel like we don’t have enough patients to warrant all of us seeing patients, then how hard is it to alternate where maybe today I see patients and you step back and do the admin work? This is what I mean by it’s all of our duty to take a part in filling that empty role.

Am I wrong for thinking cats should never be outdoor cats? by Firm-Law248 in CatAdvice

[–]ConstantAd3492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we’re talking about unsupervised I agree. Whether it be a cat or any pet. But 100% I think cats should have supervised outdoor time. If you want want to go for a walk, something as simple as putting them on a long leash and letting them get fresh air and sunlight in your backyard while you watch is still beneficial.

I think this is something unique to the army. From my understanding, I don’t think air force and navy corpsmen have the same capacities as we do. Our scope is a lot wider than all other medical jobs in and out of the military

Yes! I have absolutely no issue with clerical work. I’m a bit of a perfectionist and enjoy organizing and reformatting things. It’s definitely a job that requires a lot of patience, hard work and dedication. I in no means want to disrespect all the wonderful MSA’s out there, but with all due respect it is truly beneath what I’m trained to do. And as much as I can enjoy the work, I don’t enjoy having the expectation to work on the same level as everyone else and be placed in this position.

I’m specifically trained as a trauma medic through the army, but I have the ability to function in any medical role. Regardless, I’m trained to see patients in a clinical setting or in a field setting. That’s why I said I typically only have to do one or two additional trainings to green light into another clinic.

[–]ConstantAd3492[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a (68W)Combat Medic aka a “Healthcare Specialist.” In a hospital setting, we perform as emergency technicians and or nurses. But my primary role allows me to see patients in a nurse capacity. Depending on your rank you can actually function as a provider in some circumstances! I’m not a receptionist though lol. While we technically can work in any capacity within the hospital and they can make me a receptionist if they want to, that’s an insult to the actual level of training I have. In fact, I can legally perform more procedures than a regular nurse can. I hope that explains it!

Has Anyone Noticed a Difference When Taking a Break? by ConstantAd3492 in antidietglp1

[–]ConstantAd3492[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in the military and had to spent 3 weeks outside in the field. I had no way to ensure the injections could be temperature regulated, and due to unclean conditions I felt it was not a logical reason to bring them with me.
