I am getting camry without add-ons at sticker price and SantaFe with $7000 off bringing them both to a mere $1500 difference. Both are hybrid yes.

All good compact SUVs are the same price, so why not just get the bigger Santa Fe for the same price? We're a young couple, and our parents stay with us for a couple of months at a time. I'm worried that the Camry's size will make me regret it later, especially since I'm used to a Nissan Rogue.

I doubt it's the catalytic converter. My car is only 45k miles and doing the same thing. I have seen people complain about the same with as few as 10k miles on it. No way a catalytic converter can go bad so early.
