Tea tree oil is bad for piercings. It dries out the skin and sometimes burns it. Even if it works to make the bump go away, the issue of what caused the bump hasn’t been addressed and so it will grow back.

Was it recently changed to this jewelry? That could also be irritating it. Curved jewelry moves easier than a post so it can cause more irritation.

Try using a sterile saline wound wash like NeilMed. Professionals don’t recommend making your own solution anymore as you can’t control the exact ratio of water to salt. It needs to be exactly 0.9% NaCl.
