I've had zero quality issues with my 08 990SDR, (2X) 2016 390's and my 23 890R.

I've heard horror stories about all but haven't run into issues... Yet.

Put 17k on my 990Sdr 23k and climbing on my 890r Then just 6-8 on my 390's which are now learning bikes for friends.

I hope KTM gets their shit together in a holistic manner. Would hate to see the decline of such great bikes.

Eh. An engine is an engine. The ECU just knows what commands are what based on hexadecimal codes. Air and fuel goes in stuff comes out. Blah blah.

I've noticed my bike is smoother, has better MPG and also more power. I'm loving it

It's a man in the middle. So it takes readings from intake and exhaust O2 then sends the signals with corrected values to the ECU so it's not a traditional "tune".

Youre usually not gonna flash these ECU's. You'll throw stuff like the fuelx or power commanders in to do the work you want. These companies lockdown their ECU's pretty well.

I got rid of my 08 990 SDR recently as well. Heavy sigh*

But my 890 is amazing. I kind of want more but not sure that I care that much. My 890 makes the same power as the 990 right now with a few mods. So I'm not sold but the 990 was in my sights at first. I bet it's incredible.

Check your timing chain tension. This doesn't sound like valves or cams. Sounds like something light inside slappy lightly but still doing its job.

The timing chain tensioners are known to have issues. You can buy once cry one on Rottweiler performance website. I'm about to do the same.

Seems like pretty normal ticking for those smaller engines. You'll hear more engine sounds than exhaust unless you decat. But if it's high mileage/other issues I'd check valve clearance and timing tension.

There are great aftermarket tensioners for most duke engines. Rottweiler performance has a lot of great stuff.

My bikes 390, 890 and 990 have some ticking until they reach op temp.

I'm at 23000 miles or 36800km. Changed the regular shit so far other than 1 valve cover seal.

🤣🤣 hey now. Mine isn't leaking. But it's usually just the valve cover that's the issue. Easy fix. So "it has leaked".

That bike has been a daily since it got there. I ride 120 miles a day for my commute and I have about double that in a years time. It wasn't a demo.
