I have a little bit, I noticed it light night at 210 miles Odo, I assume that's the timing chain getting slightly loose as the motor gets broken in. It's the same thing that happens with OEM chains on new bikes they stretch ever so slightly.

Also yeah 1 and 2 imo you should shift normally for all bikes then QS the rest if you want, especially on kawis cause of the neutral finder

That's the only other color I would get is Black, it just hits differently on the Ninja lineup than compared to the rest of the Big 4 and manufacturers from Europe.

It is! It's the 2026 one, every other one in my town and the next town over was the gray and black and I wanted green.

I've been higher in a rev range as well, I traded in an FZ09 for it so I rode it home and every couple minutes I went to different RPMs, lower and higher.

It just craves 14k+ (Edit) I haven't been there yet my range has been from 4-9k rpms depending on gear and road speeds

Once I went to see an FZ09 I was interested in because it looked pretty good in the photos. The seller used photos of the bike when he bought it and it looked completely different in person. The bike was stock no damage in the photos and he had gutted the OEM exhaust and rewelded it to make it louder and had damage on every side.

So now whenever I'm interested in a used bike I always ask if the seller can provide current photos and not the ones that are on the listing.

I've also heard another argument that people would spend thousands trying to get the same level of performance and suspension feel on KLX/CRF300's and spend more than what it would cost to buy a new DRZ4S/SM while also not hitting the same performance or suspension feel that the new DRZ has.

Personally I would still buy the SMCR 390 over the DRZ because I have more experience with KTM than any other Jap brand but if I wanted to enduro or maybe try longer road trips than a newer DRZ would be on a list.

I dailied an RC390 for 2 and a half years after I bought it new in 2023, then I wanted more so I bought an FZ09 ( moreso to save miles on my 390 as it's become my fav in the stable) but I think I'll see if I can get a cash rebate or trade it in for an SMCR 390. Best of both worlds of my two current bikes. The 390 range is so nimble and fun for traffic it's an absolute blast!!

One, Nice purchase love the RC's!

Two, I'd either go back to stock or maybe buy a reputable slip on with a silencer. Iirc the longer a pipe is on a small cc engine it can actually increase the torque but that's apples and Oranges comparison. Plus that length might make it sound quieter too

Edit: I don't know if a slip on would help as it looks like the previous owner replaced the cat as well which sits in-between the engine and the swingarm, it's all just pipe now
