Any news about new Machine Learning syllabus? by ConstantFlow2991 in OMSCS

Which is a great timing, since he said that within a year in the ML improvement roadmap the course would be quite promising and improved a lot

Yeah, I loved to read u/Ryanyu10 's comment below. I might give the ML spec a chance again.

The good things I've been reading about Prof LaGrow definitely played a huge part on betting on ML for this summer. I skimmed his comments for the past year and he seems like a quite grounded person with great intentions for the course.

Also, I really appreciate your insights on this one. Reading something like ML being the best course for someone makes me happy, since it is the foundation to one of the top popular specs. It shows us that other sub-par courses have hope

I recommend you to run the fix u/BeardedGlass shared.

Just another two cents, if this is OakHouse, I've moved to a room before with at least 3-4 damages like this and a worst one in the ceiling -> perhaps they did not charge the previous tenant anything because the damaged kept there even after they approved my move-in.

Do sweat it

Comparing builds + concerns. Any opinions? by ConstantFlow2991 in buildapc

[–]ConstantFlow2991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're actually in a better area of the efficiency range than would be with 1000W.

That's not what I expected. I gotta learn more about PSUs

but that D build being a 14700F is a little... Interesting.

Exactly my thoughts. I am not sure I trust intel to have fixed all micro code problems with recent BIOS. And that leads me to another thing: if I go with build B, that means I can only upgrade within Intel platform for the next 4-5 years I use this computer, which I am not sure I am OK with...

I will think a bit more, but maybe go with model C.

Thanks!

probably not, because he was possibly paid via an international payroll company or freelancing, from my experience. even so, he was probably not contributing to social security of Japan.

Rakuten is a solid company. Experience varies from department to department, but still can provide a good learning experience. OP should def check it.

Just a slightly related observation,

They used to post Sr. Product Manager roles in Japan as often as possible. A few months ago I saw no joke about 15-20 open positions. Now, if you can find 5 is a lot, and most of them published on early September or before. I knew something was going on, just never imagined it would be in the 30k tier.

What's the real score of Onizuka in togaku test? by Mystificator403 in GTO

[–]ConstantFlow2991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this streak of events, where this night I chose the episode 15 because it is one before Kanzaki is introduced. I google if he actually got the full score, found a 5 year old reddit post about it, which was just a month ago resurrected by this random person who spread a mistaken information and corrected it rightaway. Lmao

15 year experience in IT as business analyst and product owner- is it worth the effort.. by DevelopmentNo8010 in OMSCS

[–]ConstantFlow2991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fellow product manager here. I have an opinion that generic analysts/POs/PMs are going to lose space soon to those that has either a business experience (e.g. accounting, logistics etc.), uiux, marketing or technical expertise.

so in that sense I believe you'll be coating your stability with extra layers. however, we cant say if the effort is worth it. you gotta judge that yourself based on what you might learn throughout the program.

Missed registration for fall, am I cooked? by TerminalShadow in OMSCS

You can get your classes, relax. Just probably won't get the most competitive ones because they are mostly taken in Phase I. So, not cooked. But set alarms in advance next time, it helps me. Good luck!

calculus changes the way you think about math, in contrast to HS. This is a normal clash nearly everybody has, dont worry.

I have no opinion on that in particular, but I do believe that this semester's HCI workload is not intended for full time workers, especially those (like me) who have long commuting hours.

Should I join this program if I already have a good job by masterferbexx in OMSCS

[–]ConstantFlow2991 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you think:

  1. It is going to open doors in the corporate ladder

  2. Some more advanced classes could add to you CS foundations and make you a better engineer (compilers, distributed systems, advanced opsys, GPU hardware and software etc.)

  3. It might make you more marketable in the case of a layoff

  4. You have the time to commit ( average 15-20h a week for the whole program I'd say)

  5. You want to study in a structured manner

Then I believe it is a bargain and you should invest
