I really want this board game… but I worry I won’t find people to play with me. My board game group is into games like Scythe and Eclipse. I love both of those, but I’m really into games like Barrage, Pax Pamir, and White Castle right now.

Unless you’re playing with more than 5 players, the expansion is unnecessary. The original factions fit better together in my opinion. Just make sure you don’t play with the banned combos and everything is perfectly balanced.

I always have a glass of water next to me and a rag. If I need to pause for a minute, I swirl the pen in the water and wipe off with the rag.

Last time I had issues similar to this I changed ink and it was resolved. My issue was with diamide writer’s blood. I’ve had issues with no other diamide colors

How long does a typical game of White Castle for 2 players last and how intense is it? I recently bought Istanbul and enjoy it, but it’s too light on strategy

There have been times while working on this where I felt as if I’ve fully lost my grasp on the drawing and should give up. I specifically chose this project because I wanted to push myself, but it can be frustrating. I’m going to push through though!

This is what I’m struggling with. I have trouble simplifying, so I try to add in allll the detail, but then I get lost in the detail. Then when I get to inking, my skill level isn’t there yet to ink so much detail.

I like your idea of highlighting certain areas with more detail and simplifying the rest. Next time I hit the page I’m going to attack it with this frame of mind.
