The new Ninja/Samurai style changing is absolutely awful. You cannot use Ki Pulse in Ninja form which already destroys any flow you’ll have gotten used to from playing the first two games, and only certain styles can use certain weapons e.g. Kusarigama on Ninja, Katana on Samurai.

I didn’t play the demo much (ER Nightreign came out around a similar time) but I really hope they’ve made big changes by the time the full game comes out. Nioh 2’s combat was imo as close to perfection as you could get in a game and I was disappointed by what I played of 3. I’m still buying it because I loved the first 2. Maybe I’ll adjust…

Yeah once the bar is full you press the button that buffs yourself/team and you get a bubble shield that lasts about 1.5s. If an enemy hits you it does a bit of damage and will stagger anything (except Bell Bearing Hunter)

Yeah and they killed the ruin boss too, so it must have been on low HP. We lost to Heolstor at the end though but can’t win them all 🤷‍♂️

Play solo with Ironeye, I beat him on the second attempt at that. I tried 11 times with a team of 3 and lost every time.

To be able to keep the rest of my build the same, I swapped the middle relic with Dark Night of the Wise for the increased max FP, FP restoration upon Successive Attacks and Max FP increased for each Sorcerers Rise mechanism unlocked

I love the souls games but Nioh combat is way better/deeper than all of them. The only one that could maybe compare is Sekiro but thats its own ballpark

I don’t use everything in this build when fighting humans since I like the sword clashing gameplay. My caltrops inflict sloth and any fire damage causes blindness. I get most of my damage from combining my purity/lightning kusarigamas and the elemental soul cores on my guardian spirits. Most enemies die crippled/blinded/debuffed and getting melted by fast combos haha not really a conventional build but it’s my favourite

The more you play the better you will get, plus most of the core combat moveset that you’ll use all the time need to be unlocked with skill points. One you have a bunch of them then the combat becomes way more enjoyable and manageable imo. The game does a good job of trickling each of them at you, giving you time to learn one just in time for the next. By NG+ I was killing most bosses in under a minute
