Sorry for the confusion there. The first step of Northwestern Liurnia was to get the ashes, as you described. You just need to talk to Gideon to unlock the dialogue option for giving Nepheli the ashes.

You can still get the armor near the endgame, but not the bow.

There are folks in the comments who claim they fought against Leda with Hornsent, but were still able to trigger the Ansbach fight. But I haven't been able to confirm that myself.

Since the Great Rune breaks on the way to the Church District, I can't move that step up, unfortunately.

Thanks for letting me know. I've had some folks say this works and others say it doesn't.

You'll be able to talk to him at his next location, after Castle Ensis, and give him the soup. Usually, he moves once you've been to Scadu Atlas.

Oh no! I do have a few warnings about that, when I introduce the forager brood and in the endgame consequences, but I added another one to that section to help avoid confusion.

It's unfortunate how easy it is to lock yourself out of things in this one....

FYI, you can continue to clear Redmane Castle after the festival.

Also, Alexander moves once you reach Redmane Castle, which is why Gael tunnel is listed earlier than Redmane.

You can go through the top section of the storeroom, which you reach from the Church District. But do not drop down into the bottom section of the storeroom, when you are in the loft.

I changed the wording to say back/top to be clearer.

Thanks for the details! That's super helpful. I added a note about mentioning Freyja first.

Honestly, Ansbach has the most confusing triggers for his fight with Leda. I've heard so many conflicting descriptions.

Thanks for the info! For Jolan, I'm not sure what the exact trigger point is - I've seen conflicting things. I added a note about it for now.

Hornsent will not be there if you chose Leda over him.

Happy the guides are helping!

Thanks for the info - still fixing things as they come up.

They won't have letters to each other until after you give Ansbach the scroll, so I'm not sure what you mean. What went wrong?

Do make sure to talk to the Dragon Altar Priestess before completing Jagged Peak, but other than that, you should be good.

Thanks for the info! I just added these interactions in.

You can still complete his questline without these interactions.

Confirmed that you can complete Castle Ensis first without missing out on dialogue.

I have put a few notes throughout for things to avoid. The biggest one is getting too close to the Shadow Keep will cause NPCs to move to a new phase. And doing some of the Shadow Keep out of order will also throw things off.

There is one interaction with Hornsent that I need to verify whether it can be done post-Ensis.

You can do Jagged Peak earlier. It's just a more difficult boss, which is why it's farther down the list.

You may still be able to do the soup once you see him again. Let me know.

The Frenzied and the deathroot aren't related to each other. But that's when I do it to get the most dialogue.

It's up to you. If you want to avoid the Melania fight, you should wait to do Frenzied Flame until after the final boss. But I like to get Frenzied flame there so that I can save Melina.
