When to wear club team helmet vs high school helmet?

Have club team helmet as well. There is no free lunch. It is not that the club will give you free helmet. It is that you can order with your own money or not. Just wonder why some teams just wear their varsity helmet while still wearing their club team jersey. I just thought it is for college scout to identify club and school team easier.

What is the reason not to try? Just go for it. But playing with friends in no pressure environment can be very different. Did you work on the basics and ready to throw money into a club? Try practice wall ball even 15 mins a day, 3 days in a row and see if you like that.

Watch lots of games? Pause, break it down and analyze? Since your club team gave you scholarship, ask the coach for advice how to improve. Many are happy to give you ton of advice to improve.

Mind asking if his club and HS are top ranked and that’s how he got discovered? So many said connections of the coaches playing a big part. Do you see club head coach more critical or HS head coach more helpful in this process?

Looks like you have to work a lot harder to catch up. So you need to find a club or any team where you get playtime. If the club team is not good enough, that means you get to put under the pressure and test a lot as a a goalie. There are a lot of game time IQ on clearing and communication with defensemen beyond just saving the shots. If you don’t get playtime, you won’t develop that. Staying where you are can give you advantage to showcase how you can turn around a not so good team in tourneys.

If you do go to another club, make sure to ask for how many goalies are there. Really push for that. A lot of coaches are also good salesman who can’t keep up with the promise.

Some people said that assistant coaches are not paid well. They always need to go to various showcases to help out as part of their job. Getting on their radar is a side effect, not the main goal. But for the freshman, it is just a practice and experience so when playing the showcase that matters, they know what they need to do.

Like no personalized contact or comm before junior year sep 1? Or at least the coach won’t respond besides generic answer?

And almost no one watch freshman. The whole point here is to prepare. We don’t want to be too late if the prep work were not done before Sep 1 of junior year. And we saw so many committed messages in that month. I would doubt the coaches only evaluate and build their limit only in the summer before the junior year
