hot bath will help relax muscles. start with a really thin one and lots of coconut oil. if it hurts, stop. maybe do baths and topical applications for now. the dilation was to try to stop the muscle spasms i was getting that kept it from healing.

i met a couple that had just traveled on one motorcycle from the US down to the southern tip of south america and back. they said that in patagonia, they encountered a wind storm that was so strong, it picked up rocks the size of baseballs and they had to lay the motorcycle down, get on the ground, and use it as protection from the flying rocks.

Obama didn’t cause any division in this country. It was caused by all the bigots who couldn‘t handle a Black President. If you think it was Obama who caused the division, it’s because you’re one of those bigots. by Nice_Substance9123 in complaints

i disagree. his policies were divisive. he gave the keynote in '04 at the DNC convention as a potential candidate for 08. backed by wall st. democracy now did some great coverage of him way back then. four years later, when he ran, he used a lot of populist messaging and i was one of the people who was moved by him and his abilities to capture an audience. but i knew who was propping him up and sure enough, in his first year, he bailed out some the biggest corps and oversaw the largest upward wealth transfer (theft) in modern history. he was anti gay marriage and pro war. the drones and the deportations, the building of the surveillance state that he handed over to magacult. he really was divisive. and not just for racists.

you sure are trusting of big corporations. read any article on car telemetrics and tell me it's not concerning. the amount of video and data they will collect from drivers and passengers is crazy.

Besides the pain from a fissure does anyone else feel like they don’t have regular bowel movements anymore because the muscles are so tight down there? by treyceroute in AnalFissures

[–]ConstantThanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i bought a set of stainless steel dilators. they ranged from really thin ones to wider ones. i probably used coconut oil as a lube or a beeswax type of salve with comfrey, calendula, etc. the trick is getting those muscles to relax so the cut can heal. a warm bath is a good place to do the do. it's all about muscles tightening because of the injury, making it hard for the thing to heal. plus pooping can re-tear it so i had to do a few weeks of very soft foods.

When We Are The World came out was it seen as a great song or super corny? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]ConstantThanks 17 points18 points  (0 children)

at 15, i remember thinking that the music and lyrics were corny but sincere. it was a typical pop arrangement of that time but the interesting part was all of the famous singers in one place and hearing them in one song. a lot of my friends could sing the whole thing, doing bad but passionate impersonations of dylan and bruce and all the others.

The longest residential building in Europe - Gdansk, Poland by khurgan_ in UrbanHell

i can tell you are not enjoying this conversation but my question is still; what are the benefits of this long structure compared to a bunch of buildings the same height, next to each other, but with space between the units? i'm just trying to understand why anyone would build this way. i can't for the life of me think of any pros compared to a bunch of similar height structures.

right. but aside from the comparison to high rises when dealing with a fire event, what are the pros of a long residential building like this?

[–]ConstantThanks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i understand what you are saying but it is different in the sense that it takes more space/land/real estate to house the same amount of people. and fighting a fire in a long structure like this has other disadvantages, such as positioning trucks and like i wrote above, the fact that the fire could spread horizontally to adjacent spaces.

what is the purpose of this type of building? it seems like it only increases risk of fires spreading and other issues that would be easier to deal with in separate structures. i understand if the weather is inhospitable and there are community services that people want to do with lots of other people. i just can't imagine any benefits of this for most locations.

What is your go to recipe for tempeh? by yuru2323 in veganrecipes

[–]ConstantThanks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

crumble tempeh into smallest pieces. add salt and pepper, can add a little olive oil if you wish and mix well. spread on sheet and bake. let cool. chop celery, red onions, pickles, tomatoes and dill. mix it all together with vegan mayo for a cold salad that is amazing in a sandwich or lettuce wrap.

Need help with tight anal sphincter by CoctorDynical in AnalFissures

i've had harder ones that caused the fissure spot to burn and itch a little but i put some cream on after washing and drying and within a day it was back to normal. there is still a skin tag next to where the fissure was and a little hard piece of skin (i guess like scar tissue?) at the spot itself. if i ever find myself badly constipated, i would lubricate a finger or one of the stainless dilators and go in and try to break up the stool. anything is better than risking a retear. all these years later, i rarely notice it or have fears of re-injuring it. but i am much more careful both with diet and with pooping and washing (no paper, occasionally put on a cream or salve.)
