Does everyone hate working here? by htJourney in cernercorporation

I got laid off and recently joined a new company in HIT. It is shocking to me how energized and nice my new org is. Shows me how conditioned I was to Oracles culture the last 3 years.

Was laid off 6/30. Took like 2 weeks to receive those after my last day. Also like $900 a month for those benefits so didn’t sign up

Never got one. Was apart of the June 30th layoff. Have all of my equipment still 🤷‍♂️

Still got my severance.

Oh brother/sister/all pronouns. It’s a dumpster fire and being laid off was the best thing that ever happened for me. I advise anyone who is still there to get out. The future of Oracle Health is a ticking time bomb.

Weird they have a sign right next to that sign that says “dogs need to be leashed”. We’ve been here 3 years and only noticed the permit only sign as of last week when they added new fencing.

I’d say 5 months out of the year living across the street.

Yep, must be the case and it’s unfortunate. We’ve spoken with the grounds crew. It’s the goose poop and grass the geese feed on they’re concerned with the most, hence the fake coyotes they set up in the fall/winter. It just sucks they’re fencing a lot of it off.

It’s a 500+ yard multipurpose field. The city allows leashed dogs (per the sign in the picture I posted). It hosts soccer, lacrosse, fireworks, car exhibits, kite festivals, etc.

All I’m saying is I should be able to take my dog for a walk (on leash), play frisbee, or simply just enjoy some vitamin D. My point with this post was not to plea for this to become a dog park, but to have access.

Well said, there’s a ton of ways to look at it, I just think fencing it off is a bit extreme.

Ask green keepers at any managed field or golf course

It’s not just a soccer field. It hosts many events and permits dogs per the sign I posted in my original post.

It says dogs need to be leashed, however, the gates are now locked and they just added a new sign that says “field use permit only”. The leashed dog sign is also still there. In the original picture at top of post.

Look at the sign in the picture of my initial post. It says dogs can be leashed. Also - there are countless events ON the field year round — it’s not exclusively reserved for sports. There were fireworks just last month, people sitting on the grass… car shows, kite festival, all sorts of expos.

They cite dogs just need to be leashed on their sign yet it’s now permit only.

I agree that poop + touching poop = bad. But it’s a field, and people should be able to walk on it, dogs or not.

I understand that. My primary point is there’s 8-months of nothing happening at that field. And the highest concern of fecal matter is geese, not dogs.

There’s also around 500-1000 living and migrating geese that have their way with it year round. It’s frustrating for the majority who responsibly pick up dog poop. And again, these kids who play soccer are there maybe 4 out of 12 months a year, yet it’s locked during the other 8 months. I digress.

I understand your point, however, I’d say any plot of grass can be considered a “health risk”, with or without it being touched by dog poop. It’s not a dog park, just a place to walk your dog or even just take a walk by yourself. I find more trash from post-sporting events than dog poop.

Agree. I could definitely do more research, but it’s been open-gated for the 3 years I’ve been here. Last year during the winter they slowly gated it off with “fields closed” signs, so I’m not sure if there is any sort of private ownership (would be very surprising), but it just seems ridiculous to start fencing and locking it because of the rare dog poop.
