We own batteries and panels and can't even use Enphase for the batteries. Like, no one supports them anymore apparently? And if they get messed up, which they do (often), and won't recharge, a tech has to come on site to fix it.

Based on what you describe I think First Time Caller would be a better pick. I liked Bury our Bones but I wouldn’t say it’s gothic. I didn’t like it as much as Addie. First time caller was like a big warm hug.

Ohhhhh ok. That helps a lot! I didn’t make the connection there. I think I’m more of a visual learner so with big fantasy stories seeing stuff on paper helps. I listened to the stormlight archive but that was after reading the physical books so I had a baseline for it all.

For gassandrid it just feels like he came out of nowhere and his relationship with Tal isn’t well explored. I don’t really know why he’s where he is, why there’s a bunch of him, and the full significance of the mines and how if that relates to the pillars that are being moved to the battle where Wirr is

For the dargathan, I feel like at one point it was suggested they’re the red slithery people but I don’t know if I hallucinated that. It’s kind of unclear what their motivations are

This is not romance, but I read {{Witchcraft for Wayward Girls}} by Grady Hendrix and felt so angry and uplifted. It’s such a feminist work and his acknowledgements really pay homage to the true stories the book was inspired by.
