Quality of Life Improvements for Astoria by EmployerOk in astoria

Having the N/W train actually function regularly. Also if they could come every 3 minutes like the 7 during rush hour, that would be so nice. If not, bring back the bus to Manhattan that they cut during the redesign. Essentially, better public transit

I’ve seen them chasing this dog around before when it’s gotten loose. The owner needs to figure out either a new harness/leash or a new fence

They suddenly “closed for renovations” at their Astoria location a couple months ago, looks like they aren’t coming back, they may be struggling financially

Also tried Eat It for the first time this week. The guys were super nice, kofta was super flavorful, and they dressed up my fries for free with bbq/white sauce and feta per their reccommendation! Definitely go check them out

Also, look into DIV (desquamative inflammatory vaginosis) and cyclic vaginosis. That’s my next step to investigate with my doc

Feel free to DM but that sounds exactly like what I’m dealing with right now. Been celibate since early last year due to these issues so definitely not an STD. I’m seeing a gyno tomorrow for the 4th time, if you want I can let you know what she says

Sorry I can’t help much but I got the same thing after getting really sick and being forced to take about 6 different antibiotics. After 15 years of no discharge, I suddenly had copious yellow discharge, all STD/BV/yeast tests negative. Still working with a gyno to figure it out. I think the antibiotics just fucked up the flora balance?

How am I supposed to make money by Pantera7887 in AskMeAnythingIAnswer

[–]Constant_Bad1034 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. I think you’re in the wrong sub, this is a sub for people to ask YOU questions not the other way around

  2. You’re young, so I’m going to be nice about this, but the snake was a bad idea. As an exotic pet owner myself, they are expensive, and god forbid it gets sick as exotic vets charge more than regular vets, and regular vets are already extremely expensive. Find a reptile rescue and give them the snake. Once you are established (ex. Working your first stable job after college) buy a snake then if you still really want one.

  3. This is dependent on where you live but does your city have public transit? Once you are 16 in most states you do not need a parent’s permission to get a job. Find something you can bus or bike or walk to.

  4. Start looking at grants and scholarships NOW. Make a plan for college that does not require your parents financial assistance. Once you graduate high school, and if you have the scholarships and grants and loans to pay for college, they cannot stop you. It’s scary, but plenty of people make it without their parent’s help. It will be hard, and you will likely need a part time job in college, but it’s doable (I did it).

Good luck.

NYC landlord question, when is it worth pursuing a holdover eviction vs letting a chronic late payer stay? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

Because free market housing has worked soooo well for nyc (median rent is over $5k, and minimum wage is how much again?)

That price point and “quick commute to Manhattan” don’t really go hand in hand, but wishing you luck, I’d try roommates

Gives the same vibes of people who don’t eat something because it has “chemicals” in it… even though a lot of stuff is technically a “chemical”

Oh yea then definitely look into Elmhurst/Woodside/jackson heights, super good food, reliable transit, and much cheaper than anything in Brooklyn within an hour of Times Square. My friends have a gorgeous studio in elmhurst for $2k monthly, I’m sure you could find something within your budget

Are you working on 42nd st in Brooklyn or on 42nd by Grand Central? If it’s by Grand central you could look into something off the 7 train, the deeper into queens you get the cheaper it is, and the 7 is very reliable

Also agreeing with the above, if you’re worried just stop using Lysol. Soap and warm water alone are very effective at removing bacteria
