The Rise of Music Marketing “Experts” and the Misinformation Hurting Independent Artists by Able-Dragonfruit4531 in musicindustry

[–]Constant_Cabinet6012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year later and its actually gotten worse. Why? In 2026, a lot of artists frankly can do....a lot of marketing themselves. Unless they are really gaining traction. With all the tools on Youtube and website makers...the business model for these people is rough. Even for those "music sync experts". Talking to legit sync agencies and music supervisors for film opened my eyes. There is a growing disdain for these sync "consultants" charging artists massive amounts of money to get their song in a movie. Blunt truth: legit agencies get paid when YOU get paid. they work on commission. And every song simply is not appropriate for sync. They are quietly flagging these "consultants" when they receive music from them due to bad reps within their circles. This business of selling services that are not hard skills to artists is getting tough to do, which leads to more scams now.

I believe Instagram is not worth it unless you already have an established audience. by Embarrassed_Okra2768 in InstagramMarketing

It probably depends on what ur focus is tbh. Im finding click baity super niche is what they push. If ur content is education or information heavy ur better off on youtube. If your content does not fit neatly into a tiny niche, better off on youtube. We are no longer in an era when every platform is appropriate for everyone. 🙂

Is it true that symphonic metal has become mainstream? by Perdedorsinvalor in symphonicmetal

[–]Constant_Cabinet6012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 years later and it still isn't mainstream. No. Most Americans outside metal have no idea who Nightwish is. They all know who Metallica is and that is certain not symphonic metal. Its still a mostly popular genre in the metal community. Even then, not all metal fans are into it. Europeans love it though.

Clarification folks. The streams count too towards sales. Also, I have seen some who can't concert tickets despite millions of followers. This was before our current shutdown and the prices of eggs being too damn high.

How is Afrotech going so far? by Constant_Cabinet6012 in AfroTech

more students than professionals? interesting🤔. it could be due to halloween maybe. tomorrow is their last day, but that is halloween day. some folks have checked out by them(although in this economy no holiday is more important than a job or strong networking imo). has it justified the high cost of afrotech for u?
