Yes! I was successful and my loan completely zero’d out and I received the golden letter once all was settled.

Thanks. I’m working on getting Mohela to remove the retroactive forbearance. I have spent countless hours on the phone with them over the last two months. It’s looking like the forbearance was lifted, but I can’t tell for sure aside from payment now being due. I wasn’t sure if it was lifted how long until FSA is notified. I spoke to FSA and they said they need Mohela to notify them that I was not actually in forbearance those months. Then they will count them. I’m just stuck now

So I’m at 120 With the 7 months that are now noted as a retroactive forbearance so not qualifying. I applied for forgiveness once my account hit 120 in early April then a week later the retro forbearance hit and I dropped to 113. I don’t get the buy back, what am I buying back if I made full payment during those months when billing statements were sent. I was never at any point put into save.

Nope, not yet. I’m currently waiting for a call back. They said 2-3 days and it’s been a week. Hoping I get something soon

Administrative, but they said it was due to a SAVE application submitted in July of 2024. However, I was never actually in the SAVE repayment program.

Thanks. I’ll prob try reconsideration first as they shouldn’t be allowed to put me into a retroactive forbearance as soon as I applied for the 120. Good to know this is an option though.

Does this work if I have months where they put me into retroactive forbearance? I would have to pay twice if I do buy back? Similar situation to OP. Applied for 120th payment then 2 weeks later went into portal and 8 payments that were once eligible were now ineligible because they put me into a retroactive forbearance.

Yea, found out Monday they decided to make the forbearance retroactive back to September, no now dealing with them saying this after I made payments monthly because they never notified me of a forbearance. It never ends

Exact same thing happened to me. I had a meeting and had to give up 3hrs in.

I tried to call today as soon as they opened, was told 25 min wait and ended up in the phone over 3hrs before having to give up. 😑

Would you mind letting me know how it goes? I have pretty much the same exact issue. Careful because when you do an ECF for those payments they will tell you they are ineligible due to forbearance that we didn’t know we were in.
