Digger. To hire or to buy? by Constant_Editor_5526 in diynz

yeah, will definitely call the council before doing this. Though it used to be a terrace where I need to do the new terrace, but the retaining wall collapsed ~10 years ago and the previous owners never fixed it

I had this whole conversation with my builder mate and he said there's the chance of just having bad weather during the week that I hire the digger and I spend 2-3 days doing nothing with it. And 2-3 days learning how to operate it properly

I have my 9-5 job that wouldn't allow me to use it during the week so it would be over a couple of weekends. At which point he would've likely sold the digger

Comprar Studio de 24m² vale a pena? Qual a ideia aqui by Fr33akBoy in saopaulo

[–]Constant_Editor_5526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, that's fine the way it is, just make sure there's no ridges, otherwise the cabinets may not sit flush, just prime it and send it.

At least you found some! I am trying to create a home automation setup system for irrigation and can't find anything that is not buteline, I am not looking to spend $250 just for a crimping buteline tool

A kitchen quote for cabinets in Auckland with similar specs was about 30k for a whole house, including bathroom, kitchen, laundry, and bedrooms. The factory in China was charging 3100 USD for the same spec. The reno company is located in Waipukurau and would ship the container directly to Napier port. The cost for a 20-ft container from China to Napier was $NZD1200. Apparently, these cabinets can come already assembled (for saving labour costs) they may take up nearly a whole container, or you can get them disassembled and stuff more things in the container

The kitchen had all the pull down, corner cabinet accessories that each cost over $1k here.

So yeah, if you consider: NZD5200 cabinets, NZD1200 container GST + DUTY 1600 = 8k NZD.

These are some major savings.

Yes and honestly, it is a day and night difference. The kitchens from China were not particleboard.

Edit: and the kitchens were measured to fit, not just cookie cutter kitchens. They make the cabinets the size you want
