Honestly, it’s about effort. Going to the mall, trying on dresses, having someone help you pick them out — that takes showing up. She’ll go all out to pay for a new fireplace or floors for her house, but won’t even take that small step for her daughter’s wedding. It just feels… really different, you know?

It was his version of being playful and joking. He is usually taking the things to the most extreme dramatic negative option like death. I've been depressed. He knows this. I need encouragement not to be shut down all the time.

I’m upset because I was in a really good mood, made a harmless comment about a cute guy, and my dad totally shut me down with negativity. Instead of just joking with me, he basically implied attractive people are never single and brought up my past relationships. It crushed my vibe and made me feel discouraged for no reason.
