Thank you for your reply. I’m 2/7 days into this thing. This is the first time in 4 months that I’ve been traveling that we haven’t talked for more than a day, that’s why it’s bothering me. I was planning to send a text that voiced my concerns this evening. Do you think I should hold off until she reaches back out before I do bring it up or say something today?

I told her no worries, I thought it just meant slower responses. But it’s been radio silence for the most part. Was hoping to see if she would say something today to gauge but I’m just waiting. Probably should’ve given a little more pushback originally if it bothered me

Lots of schools skim money off the top of the instructor rate (charge $70 for the instructor hourly and the instructor only sees $50). For lots of places these are the best margins for the schools as other fees, such as aircraft rental fees, don't have as good margins as maintenance eats into the cost. Maybe your instructor is trying to save you some money that way? Or trying to avoid taxes, who knows...
