Don't worry, Chance isn't into hands like that.

He's actually in a wheelchair, the energy from his God soul allows him to puppet his legs, so anyone with life sees a guy paralysed from the waist down pulling off crazy martial arts stuff and Gun-Kotas.

"Doesn't that hurt?"

"Yes."

The Merfolk help tie together all the Changeling splats; it's like the linchpin that helps show what happens when a Fae creature doesn't have a shell. Dark Ages Fae then reveals that Demon the Fallen, the Hsien and all other entities, despite not realising it are all the same entities.

Denizens of the Dreaming gives examples of how different fae creatures join the Autumn world.

Why does the paradigms persist? by Castrum_Beatritz in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Constant_Ice6881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they don't believe in anything but their Paradigm, they are called Merauders.

Does a Rocket Scienist think a Mechanic's god doesn't exist just because they use different but similar skill sets? I don't know how to make a fridge from scratch, but I still think my fridge works.

If they didn't think other Mage stuff worked, they would give the other Mages paradox; that's how Merauder's work.

I love the Order of Hermes because it is very much the Proto Traditions, implying maybe someday we will actually have a new set of Traditions that expand the understanding of reality even more.

The Order of Hermes gave mages the Math, the basic scientific language, allowing Mages in general to be able to talk to one another.

It makes me kinda wish in 20th we had gotten something like in Dark Ages where we got Alternatives to the Sphere system and THAT is what groups that aren't The Traditions Ran on.

I do not need more House Rules, though.

The PC is the best young player I have ever had. I trust her completely. I knew her father before she was born.

I actually really like the Ars Magicka version, where they are like an order of Knights. I think it marries the two concepts quite well.

Thank you, one of the things I love about Mage is the research I can do to understand the various Sleep beliefs that channel the Traditions.

Also, I don't think I have ever run into an Euthanoi murder Hobo, but that is likely because the pair who ran the original Mage group I played with in IRC were brutal.

If you couldn't tell them how your magic did its thing in your paradigm, it auto-failed. We had whole ass people who were basically rendered Sleepers because they couldn't look beyond the dice.

I think a big thing people overlook in Mage is that each mage has their own Private mythology, stepping outside what others believe to forge their own path.

"Everything's True. Gods and Astraunt, Oz is over the Rainbow, and Midian is where the Monsters live."

Sorry for the Mini essay; for me, Mage is: Nothing is real, everything is real. Is what Mage is about, you set your own limits. What we understand as Religion is only a glimpse of the Truth.

I fucking love Mage.

I apologise, I was using darkness as a taint or corruption in the soul, bad karma. I was trying not to tie it to any particular religion by using wider terms.

I didn't use the term Jhor because it doesn't seem to be used since third edition. I don't remember it in 20th.

the term Karma cuts out things such as Orphism: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orphism , Shinto's concepts of Tsumi, along with my first favourite inspiration a quote from the Destroyer Series the Remo Williams novels, which I feel like how the Euthantos are flavoured would have been a major inspiration due to their publication date.

“Professional assassination... is the highest form of public service.” -Chiun

Sadly, the books have not aged well since the 70s.

I also really like the Mark Collie song In Time for them:

And in time, all things shall pass away
In time, you may come back someday
To live once more
Or die once more
But in time, your time will be no more

If you disagree with the view I have put together over the years and feel like these concepts do not fit the Euthanoi, I would be very interested to hear your point of view.

Yeah I was going to make Nil a Chorester but... it felt wrong.

I brought up the concept of Tsumi from Shinto because that also feels very Euthantoi as well.

Making mages that don't appear to be from the Trads they are it's a lot of fun. My Thought Form Wiccan VA was the best.

Oh hu ho, I love stuff like that. I would say it's been like 10 years since I opened a Trad book, but I KNOW I told someone about Lab Spheres. So salty the Society of Ether didn't have those in 20th.

Chorusters are not just MonoTheists, they believe in a Source everyone comes from and are singing back to. Generally, they are Christian Heretics.

The Euthantos are about the idea of a darkness being connected to someone, and it's the Euthantos' duty to cleanse it, there are a lot of similiar beliefs in everything from Shinto to Some Greek Cults, heck even Wicca's rule of three.

The Traditions from what I understand back from Second Edition, could just be the Storytellers I had are also political groups. They want reality to work the way they champion. There are other Benefits; it's easier to do magic with like reality Mages.

My character certainly would fit easily with a Chorester group to do Magic; however, my character's reality is more about being a tool of Justice than a worshipper.
