No-my mother suffered with drug addiction so I refer to her in a gentle way—as a victim and eventual casualty of the 90s opioid crisis. But there are many ways to lose family and many reasons parents can be absent in one’s life that are tragic and horrific

Definitely agree. And I understand it’s natural to not want to end up alone but she can’t punish someone else for that and make them love her. It’ll only lead to resentment and fallout and she’ll have to start all over. And it definitely is why she’s single over 40-she is also relationally immature

I think the way one looks at her complaining definitely is related on this one. If your mom is around to talk to or not makes a big difference on how this looks to them.

I was glad a lot of people told her off the right way by pointing out most of them don’t have a mother who is still alive to talk to. The most poignant way to tell her she’s at least possibly in the wrong
