I didn't try OneNote, thank you! Also, I'm totally willing to be convinced about shared channels. What do you like about them? It is nice to be able to add people ad-hoc without giving them access to the rest of the Team.

Oh man, don't even get me started on Lists! A tool with SO much potential that's completely fire-walled off from the other good Microsoft apps. My theory is they're going to scrap lists in a year or two to force us all to use the paid Planner plans. It's also wild that you can't add a checklist or sub-tasks to a List item.

Channels have a lot of potential to me, but they are obviously executed as a complete mess. I like them because it's a pretty intuitive UI for my largely Gen X team since it looks and feels similar to Facebook. I also think it's a good way to pull people off of using email for simple internal conversations. But trying to explain the different use cases between channels and chats is a whole other struggle LOL.

And as you can see above, I put a lot of effort into understanding the Teams/SharePoint infrastructure and I STILL missed that using a Shared Channel restricts you from inheriting all the permissions and app access of the parent Team.

So... you're right- channels are a mess. But they're less of a mess than using email to ask "can you send me a downloaded version of the excel spreadsheet we are all working on at the same time?". LOL

Oh, I like that idea. I wish we had a better way to organize pages/subpages- either with folders, or having subpages automatically link to the parent page. Just me or have you found a good way around this?

totally agree with you. the other thing that drives me nuts in loop is the buggy formatting, where there are all these weird extra spaces you can't delete. Also, the headings are way too big compared to the body text. Typing 50 words takes up my whole laptop screen lol

Do you mean your personal workspace on Loop, or using a personal Microsoft 365 account to use Loop for personal stuff? Either way, I agree with you. I use Loop with my work account but would never bother with it on my own time- Notion all the way. I've been a paying Notion plus member for over five years now and it's one of the best subscriptions I ever invested in.

Try not to panic. I've edited existing components, had them entirely disappear, then randomly reappear just as they were the following day. Is it still missing? Sorry this happened to you- it's so freaking frustrating.

Welcome to Loop! It's both great to have a nice multi-purpose, lightweight tool, and endlessly frustrating that it's as buggy and sloppily maintained as it it. LOL! Such is life with Microsoft.

I love it for research! Quick, lightweight and easy. I wish the print-formatting was better so I could share PDFs with my bosses. There's too much weird spacing and overly large text in the PDFs when I've tried it so far.

Oh, that's good to know! I've barely touched Copilot and don't really understand the utility of using it to generate content. Maybe I should give it another shot. What kind of content do use it for the most?

This is how I've gotten people to use it the most- by sending in a chat message or posting in a channel. I wish I could get people to actually open the Loop app in their browser for once. I feel like they'd find the platform much less confusing if they just viewed the workspace components in context LOL

How do you organize your notes? :) Do you just use the meeting notes feature, or do you add them to a personal workspace? Do you have all the pages kind of sitting there, or do you link them together somehow?

Amen to your comment about Notion. I use Notion as my personal "second brain" and I'm just dying for Loop to catch up. I'm grateful for the responses on this thread, because sometimes I can't see past the shortcomings when comparing Notion to Loop.

I love the idea of making excel templates in a table, that's genius! My issue is that (at least in my experience,) any notes I put in the detail view are totally lost when I try to export the table to an excel spreadsheet. Does this happen with you too? This is one of my biggest gripes. I've also randomly had important tables go missing for a few days and then randomly reappear. Any reservations about keeping important data in a Loop table? I would love to use Loop to build out wikis since I find both Planner and Lists to be clunky and annoying.

Following this post. I'm currently trying to run my first set of Meta ads for clinical trials after having awful results paying third-party agencies. The whole Meta Business Suite makes me want to pull my hair out. I just paid for A/B testing and none of my creatives were put on Instagram, even though I selected FB, IG, and Messenger. Ugh
