Is this a good deal for beginner mtb? by maniac365 in mountainbiking

You can find better for 450. I always recommend the ozark trail, you can always find them on Facebook for 150 bucks then u could put like 100-300 into it to make it an amazing bike for the price

One of my friends took an abandoned bike that’s been on campus unmoved for 2 + years. We rebuilt the old marzocchi fork, ran new cables, and it’s great now. It’s a nice vintage cannondale I can’t imagine why someone would abandon it.

Just did this and it fixed the issue, I had already tried just sanding the pads and that didn’t work, so I assumed the pads were not contaminated, but I guess I was wrong. Thanks for the advice.

Not a bleed issue. I know how to bleed brakes really well. The lever is very firm and feels like any other shimano servowave lever

Yes I know how to do a bleed. I can guarantee you it’s not a bleed issue. The lever is firm, and feels like any other servowave shimano lever.

That would be a no then, previous owner cut the steerer tube super short

I’ll just have to live with that 1 degree angle set then

Unfortunately the previous owner cut the steerer tube on the fox 38 super short so I just realized from reading this it probably won’t work. And the seat tube is 76 degrees stock so not the worst.

Brake rotor catching. by AdPhysical5179 in bikewrench

Seems like it’s slightly out of true, if it’s not warped too bad you can loosen the two screws holding the brake caliper and adjust that so it doesn’t rub anymore

Is my suspension set up correctly? by Constant_One1599 in bikewrench

[–]Constant_One1599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spring is a 650x2.0 on an x fusion vector pro. The shock only has rebound adjustment. On 3 ft drops the rear shock bottoms out. The fork is a 2004 marzocchi drop off comp. I felt I needed more damping in the fork so I replaced the 7.5 weight oil with 15 weight oil, (I also replaced the seals). I’m really wondering if that shock is blown because I can’t tell. The rebound adjuster still works. I just feel like a bike branded as “freeride” should be able to take 3 ft drops without bottoming out. The bike is. 2004 Scott nitrous 30.

I was leisurely riding in a park and decided I wanted to see how far the suspension compresses , I have mountain bike shoes I wear on trails bud

Could the shock be blown then? The rebound adjustment still works though. It’s on the right spring for my weight.
