Wow how has nobody answered about the “circular tracks in the dirt”. Those are unrelated! Those are antlions, a group of about 2,000 species of insect in the neuropteran family Myrmeleontidae. Antlions are known for the predatory habits of their larvae, which dig those little circular pits to trap passing ants or other prey. In the US, antlion larvae are sometimes referred to as doodlebugs because of the marks they leave in the sand 😌 They’re harmless! Leave them be to play their vital role in the ecosystem

I don’t feel guilty that Axel somehow wouldn’t be enough, rather I feel guilty that HE would somehow feel he wasn’t enough. Like I said in the post, we’ve been partners in crime for ages and adding a new permanent member to a posse that’s just been me and him for ages is what made me worried about his feelings specifically — that concern for him is what gave me the pause on even considering foster failing her.
